Things I've learned since I've been slave-driving

The slaves have horrible initiative.
Lots of slaves are lazy.
They always want to go home early, and are annoyed when you can't let them go home because you can't afford to get rid of them.
These employees are seriously going to turn me into an asshole; can't get them to do anything unless I specifically tell them to (This includes telling the people inside the store to make the pizza that has been on the make line screen for 5 minutes).

Not own, just part of the management.
I'm an hourly shift leader.
It's decent, the store honestly runs itself most of the time.
It's just near impossible to get some of the employees to work.
I suppose the biggest problems are the two that are still technically "teenagers." But oh well, just gotta learn to yell at them.
It was awkward when the employees just started freely talking about a deal around me though, I mean I know it's pretty obvious looking at me that I probably smoke weed. But none of them know for sure, so oh well. I just kept doing inventory and was like.

I know i was surprised a few months back when I found out how lazy my fellow employees are. But I find it crazy that they will still slack off RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME.
I mean honestly the extra duties aren't hard, it's the extra responsibility of being in charge of the shift.
Drivers thinking it is OK for orders to go out late, and in store people ignoring pizzas (and everyone ignoring the phones but management and whoever has been specifically told to answer them).
Although most of the management never answers the phones because if we are busy on the phones suddenly pizzas stop getting made for some reason.
Like I said though, turning into an asshole I'm sure.

Also I've realized how few people pay with cash. I deposit at the MOST 400-600 dollars a night, and this will be after a $5,000 day.

First rule to management is make no friends, they are employees only. If they think you're friends with them, they will take advange of it. Just remend them of the unemployeement rate, and they'll straighten right up. There's a lot of good workers needing jobs these days.

Man I worked my ass off for employers when I was a teenager. That's no excuse whatsoever.

I just meant the two employees that are the biggest issues are our only slackers. I too worked my ass of back in the good ol' days.
My biggest issue really is I still am not 100% sure when is best/worst to sent people home early and such.
Labor% is usually pretty awesome on my shifts though, so it has yet to bite me in the ass.

Also did you know underage kids can't use knives?
I never was aware of this, so it's like crazy. I don't know why we hire underage kids at all honestly.
