Never done or heard of it being done. I would just go with earthworm castings.

I'm curious if the soil mixture with all the other beneficial micro-organisms would keep the coffee from getting moldy.

maybe if you properly pasteurized it just b4 mixing but I still wouldnt expect it to last much longer, deff not enough for a whole grow. outdoors no problem.

if you want to do this ..Completely dry the coffee first and add about 2 tbs to a gallon of your soil mix..Either that or make some compost and add the coffee grounds and use that stuff next yr..I've used em b4 and best method is dried and add a little to your soil, if your planning on using it soon..Coffee grounds are a great source of nitrogen..But it's not instantly released..Banana peels can be used the same way dried then added they add potasium.. Really is best to do all this as compost for next yrs soil,, Takes stuff a while to break down and become useable..

hmm so coffee grounds for proleteriat nitrogen and banana peels for potassium...
are you positive this works? can you give some sources? and how much would one have to worry about fungus?
side note: You think it's possible to just pour cold coffee instead of water maybe a little? hehehe
