Just wanted to share this. I've always loved music, and loved creating things... so this last Sunday, I wrote and recorded this track. Would like to hear your thoughts, if you have any to share.

The guitar makes me think to Jack Johnson, dunno why...
I like it man! Keep up the work!
I'd say thangs about lyrics but since english ain't my first language, I'll need to listen the song 3-4 times before I can really understand everythang, and really get the message.
-------------------- Pour un instant, j'ai respiré très fort
Ça m'a permis de visiter mon corps
Des inconnus vivent en roi chez moi
Moi qui avait accepté leurs lois
J'ai perdu mon temps à gagner du temps
J'ai besoin de me trouver une histoire à me conter
Pour instant j'ai oublié mon nom
Harmonium - Pour un instant

Thanks for listening, it's super awesome to hear other people diggin' the tunes!
Quote:
"Just Be" Lyrics:
It seems only yesterday Was when we used to play And still so far away From the point where we are today
These days pass us by Not one day that we do not try To make ourselves feel free Just like the beach when we're smoking trees
Chance has opportunity Whoa, for you and me And we can both break through Everyday is born anew
Whatever fate may bring I can tell you my friend one true thing In my heart love still sings From the inside, love still rings
And if you one day too see That maybe we were meant to be Laughing and a running high Why don't you just stop on by?
Ey, a little mo' pass us by Not one day that I do not try To make myself feel free Just like when I be smoking trees
But chance hides opportunity For so many in the world you see And we can all break through Because everyday is born anew
And when we all place faith In our very own human race It won't be like the pain we felt 'Cause in this hot sun the pain just melts
These days pass us by Not one day that we should not try To make ourselves feel free All we have to do is be (take my lead)
Sometimes the darkness dwells Where we create our own personal hell But you know we can all break free All that we have to do is be
So why not come along with me? Ride with me amongst these big green trees Puff on all of the earth's magical grass And you will see our love will last (love will last)
These days pass us by Not one day that we should not try To make ourselves feel free All we really have to do is be, take my lead.

Thanks for the lyrics
I like the way they are written, the rhymes & thangs, also love the guitar in the song man
For the lyrics, did you write em by yourself or are they from another group/artist/thang? (Not sure because of the quote)

Every single piece of anything in that song was done by me. Wrote the lyrics down last Sunday morning, while listenin' to Ziggy Marley's "Beach in Hawaii" song. That Ziggy song gave me the inspiration for the basic music structure, and I just started layering a couple of guitar tracks on top of one another as well as a hand drum. There were 8 tracks in total, multiple voice, multiple acoustic and one electric guitar, and of course the hand drum. Put a solid 10-12 hours of work into the production of that track over three days time, using Garage Band software on my iPad with a Blue Yeti USB microphone. It's literally the second track I've ever written/recorded. Here's the first one (shorter, looser) if you'd like to give it a listen, done a few days prior...
Quote:
"These Days" lyrics:
These days, I can't wait Where I am, arrived late But I know, where I go A smile waits, love takes
Me away To a land With you In the plans
There we were, in the sunshine Singing songs, of good times You looked at me, and you saw In my ol' eyes, the flaws In your plan, well I know Not all things, can go The way we want, in our time Whoa, this life, it's a crime
These days (these days), can't wait (can't wait) Where I am (where I am), arrived late But I know (I know), where I go A smile waits, and then love takes
Me away To a land With you In the plans

I think it has a lot of good potential man. Just needs a bit of finishing and editing. But having done it all yourself it's pretty good.

See, that term pedo gets thrown around a lot.
Is a 16 year old guy having sex w/a 16 year old girl a pedophile?
If not, then how is a 30 year old considered a pedophile for doing the same thing?
I think y'all need to look up the definition for pedophile.

+1 I like what you are trying to do and it is cool you have the balls to share your first creations.
I think you may want to consider only going with the song parts that really are needed to get across the feeling and intent of the music. I may be entirely wrong, but it sounded to me like you were trying to make sure that the songs were "full" of enough layers and effects. Sometimes a guitar and a voice are all that are needed, sans echo-effects, multiple guitar tracks, etc...
Thanks for sharing.

Good advice. While I still included some slight echo effects and two guitar tracks, I ditched the drums and extra guitar, paring this one down to incorporate more open space. Let me know what you guys and gals think!

"Rust" lyrics:
There was a time, when I thought I knew All that I wanted, dreams through and through. But then one day, it occurred to me I might not know a thing.
Sometime later, I began to stir To find direction, in this world of turns. Then one day, from right out the blue Turned my head, and I, and I saw you.
There are times when we find paradise But we don't see it, and we will pay the price. Once it's gone and our vision clears We end up seeing What was blinded by fear.
Come again, clocks racing around Movin' so fast, barely touching the ground. In the end we will all turn to dust, So we should try to live a little bit, Before we start to rust.
From where you came, I may never know. The things that you said, and all the love that you showed. I hesitated, sort of lost my mind. But I knew it in my heart, I knew you were kind. Though I couldn't seem to find my mind.
For all my smarts an intelligence So many days, and all that money spent. I didn't know, I didn't know quite how good it was. Because I got caught up, In controlling what I could not.
My only hope is that one day soon I'll recognize my mistakes and gloom For what they were, immaturity. With space and time, I will begin to see.
There are times when we find paradise But we don't see it, we will pay the price. Once it's gone and our vision clear We end up seeing What was blinded by fear.
Come again, those clocks racing around Moving so fast, barely touching the ground. In the end, we will all turn to dust So, my friends let us make sure that we live a little bit before we Start to rust. You got to live a little bit, Before we start to rust.
Live a little bit.
Ten years later, who knows where we're at? It's been so long since I felt like that. Where are we? Have we found ourselves? Our place in life, our vision felt.
If I knew then what I know now I wonder if you might still be around? A little older with the scars burned in Fade in to the distance. Letting go of my resistance. Letting go...
Feedback is well appreciated and taken to heart. Ultimately, once I have enough material for a solid set, I will go back and rerecord and/or remaster all of the tracks using the feedback I am given and the increased skills I am hoping to develop as I crank more of these puppies out.

First track- The ending needs cleaning up. Sounded cacophonous at points. Second- Nice singing. Some flats and sharps though. Moreso flats. Fingerpicking here? Third- Reminded me of Zappa for some reason 4th- The intro guitar was very nice but I think you could work on your dynamics. The opening vocal line was a little harsh as well as some others throughout. The solo started off really strong but lost focus I think. This was the weakest track in my opinion, not necessarily due to composition but execution. Still has a lot of potential.
Overall a nice set of tunes! Lyrically pleasing, good vocals and decent guitar.

Thanks man, I feel ya on all of your comments, indeed, the solo/energy part of the "Into the Sky" track got muddy and disorganized. Recording and getting the mix you want is difficult dagnamit! I've remixed the "4th track" (Not For Granted) to bring the strings up and the vocals down... haven't uploaded the new version though. Still gathering opinion, and ultimately I'll remix/re-record various tracks to put together an album, hopefully within the next few months. I really appreciate the feedback, thank you.
