Looks good. Depending on what lights your running for it you're going to want to get them pretty dang close. You usually want to clone with floro lights. And have the light 3-5" away. If it's under HID's keep them a minimum of 4 feet away if it's over 600 watts.

It'll be fine! Keep the humidity high with good airflow and don't touch it and it'll be fine! I've had tons of clones flop over like that after you cut them, but they ALL root in the end.

yeah, I always used to get discouraged when they fell over and I'd throw them out. but then i kinda just ignored one and it rooted without me even noticing. now I have like ninety percent success. just get past that initial shock and you're good.

What's the humidity like?? You need to make sure that it's at least 80% humidity.

ive been misting it to try and keep humidity up i think its goo i dont have a hygrometer but im pretty good at judging humidity cause well you gotta to grow idk im thinkin it might have got an embolism when i cut it hopefully no it still seems to have life in it just idk what to expect considering ive never done this b4 thanks for the input

Embolisms usually don't throw up that early. And did you not cut it under water??

I've never gotten an embolism after hundreds of clones cut, and I've also never cut underwater. I don't think it's that common.
I've also taken clones, dipped in hormones and then put them in a bucket of water to drive 1.5 hours home before throwing them in the cloner. Droopy as shit and had 33 out of 35 root and survive.
That bottle the clone is in, put the lid on it and you'll be fine. Also maybe put a washcloth or papertowel in there and soak it with water to keep the humidity high.

Eh, I know they're not common. But I say why risk it at all. When ya take 50 clones at a time and then only select the best rooting 6, you want to eliminate all possibilities. It'd suck to lose a sixth of your crop.
But again yes I know they're rare.

My bad, sort of a quick-reply fail on my part there.
Why would you ever cut 50 clones and then throw 44 of them away?

Want the best of the best. It costs like .10 cents a clone IF that. Make sure that the 6 plants I do grow are the best that I can get.

And I usually find homes for at least 15 of the ones I don't want. But yes I just throw quite a few of em out.

Heat mats are relatively cheap and work wonders when rooting clones or popping beans. I had a much better success rate when I bought a good humidity dome and heat mat. Before your next batch pick up those two items. Your clones will be happy.
Good luck with the lil one.

Ok and now for the most important part of cloning;
Stop frickin' messing with it!
I know it's super tempting to look at it every 5 minutes to see how it's doing, but seriously the more you mess with it the more likely it'll never root. aside from misting the first couple days and making sure the humidity is fine, you should not even touch it for the next week.

not to thread jack, but I always wondered...when you're putting a cutting into a rockwool cube, do you put it in until you feel resistance or do you push it into the cube past where the premade hole is?
it always seemed to me like pushing it in too far would damage it.

Pushing in too far will remove some of the rooting gel/powder and def damage the cutting if you aren't careful. I've only used rockwool once. The brand I had you just pinched it to open the hole wide enough to insert the cutting without rubbing the rooting gel off....then let go and the sides bounce back into place hug'n the cutting. I used a humidity dome with about an inch of perlite and some water to keep things humid. Also a heat mat keeps things at a great temp for roots to flourish.

I push mine all the way to the bottom of the cube. I do this with rockwool and rapid rooter plugs. Just be careful not to break the stem.

I never understood why people shove the cutting into the cube.
Just cut a slice and put the stem into the slice cut in the cube then wrap with a rubberband or whatever you choose. (you don't even need to wrap them actually)
The difference my stems are not damaged in anyway and there is actually a little gel left on the stem once in the cube.
