seriously that's always annoying when that happens. I've been playing awhile and it doesn't usually happen to me anymore but I'm always fishing out the picks that my friends drop in there.

I have a Takamine 12 string. Haven't played it in forever though. Gotta get some work done to it. They're fun as hell to play, presents quite the challenge cuz I like to do a lot of picking and blues shit, but once you get good at it, it's pretty fun. I can never get that octave string tuned right though. Tips anyone? I mean by ear, not with a tuner.
about your problem, you could just try taking some of the strings off of just one end of the guitar. Just pull the pins out of the bridge so that they're still connected at the neck. Maybe you can get your hand in there and feel around a little bit (that's what sh...hit me I hate it when people say that). But yeah, then you don't have to wrap all the strings and all that shit again. You can just reinsert the pins. Might have to adjust the tuning just a little as it might've knocked it out a wee bit.

Hit the harmonic at the 12th fret on the low string and carefully pluck the open octave string. Because the harmonic at the 12th fret is exactly one octave higher you will be able to tune them to a perfect unison.
