The only advantage I see for doing this would be a set up like this.

  (Plants)
\_/  \_/  \_/
  |      |    |
/|\    /|\  /|\

[  light  ]

  \|/    \|/  \|/
  |      |    |
\_/  \_/  \_/

(more plants)
(Eh, the diagram didn't carry over as well as I'd have liked)

But even still your plants (and every picture I've seen of people doing this as well as every article, plus years of reserch by darwin and various other scientist) are going to want to try and curve up. Primarily your lower branches will do this (upper in this case) .

Heres an image of just what I'm talking about. The lower (upper) branches are curving upwards. And in order for him to actually get it to grow downward required dangling a chain from it.

I'm not saying its impossible, especially if you can find clinostat, and you're right especially for the main stem, but all your auxilery branches/leaves will turn upward.

In order to grow good weed you need to be part carpenter, electrician, plumber, biologist, geneticist, chemist, and very willing to get dirty.

I've been working with power tools since I was 8, my dad is an electrical engineer who owned a 280 gal fish tank, and I studied biology with a specialty in genetics. Getting dirty comes naturally. I think my parents inadvertently trained me to be a weed grower.

See what you think on my first try.

Well at least now you finally admit it is possible.
In your earlier post you said, "It won't work", which was incorrect.
That's all I'm saying is it can and will work, it may take some work to maintain but so does any type of growing.

Just so you know I'm not a fan of this method, nor would I try it.
On just this fact alone, growing upside down puts the light under the plants, which mean drain or a leak could result imo a unnecessary fire hazard.

The idea of growing a plant upside down sounds cool, but I think it would be about as exciting as growing something in a hanging planter.

Plants aren't meant to grow upside down, so is there some science reason that this would have any benefits
whatsoever? I see people swear upside down tomatoes work, but i just don't get it. Plants should be grown
as close to their natural conditions as possible, with proper nutrition as well.
