Help with Coco Coir, nutes and reading my EC meter

God my local hydro shop is dumb lol. They didnt know what DWC was. I told them it stood for Deep water culture and they were still puzzled.
Today I asked if they sold any soiless mixes, they began to list off all their grow mediums. When I asked for a prepackaged mix they looked at me like i was crazy lol
Australia must really be behind when it comes to hydro lol
Anyways, to make my own soiless mix, what would i need to buy, and the ratios would be good too. FYI, I will just be using pots, will try DWC on my next grow. Cheers MagickZ

For DWC I recommend hydroton.
But when you say you'll be in just pots. Are you planning on a drip system, flood and drain? Or do you plan on hand watering them daily maybe even multiple times a day?

Just going to water the pots. I don't have time to make a DWC at the moment, and the hydroshop are no help when it comes to shopping for parts lol I'll probably by the parts I need online instead

If you just plan on hand watering, then I'd look into coco coir, or read up on hempy buckets.
I just started using coco and am loving it at this point.

Yep. just bought a 50 litre bag of coco. Read the directions, says to use it straight outta the bag. So I don't need to wash it first?

I went out shopping today and bought a 50L bag of coco. Also got an EC tester, and some nutes. The nutes I bought were called Nutrifield Coco NF. It is 2 part. On the bottle is says not to mix a and b concentrate. I assume that means I can mix them diluted? I got a bucket of water, added some part a and then added some part b. Is that right? Or am I supposed to do them separately.
Also, bottle A says seedlings EC 0.6-1.2 Bottle B has the same, EC 0.6-1.2 for seedlings and transplants. Once I have mixed part a and b into water, do I want 0.6-1.2 for each part (a&b) or do I need that reading as a total
I thought I needed 2.4, so I mixed it all up until I got a reading of 2 on my EC meter and used that to water my transplanted seedling. I don't know if I'm reading my meter right, as its supposed to read in 0.1 increments but there is no decimal place lol
I chose the seedling that was doing the worst, lol, so if I fuck it up I wont miss it.
Anyways, instead of waiting 3-4 days to see how this does, I thought I'd be better off posting to see what others think. I'd really like to transplant the rest tomorrow, as come monday I'm back to work and wont have time to do it.
Cheers MagickZ

Someone on another forum has just told me i've done it wrong lol, but they didn't explain the right way to do it, lol
Anyone wanna chime in here? Before I get too drunk? I just Emergency flushed the plant, but not sure how to do it correctly. Very little instructions on the EC meter, and no instructions on the nute bottle. Definately not noob friendly products!

Figured my meter out. A reading of 1 = 0.1EC I flushed the plant for nothing lol, someone else told me 2EC would burn it, haha, it was actually 0.2 ec
Anyways, I've fed her with the right solution. Interesting to see how she'll do.
I couldn't get my lights as close as i wanted to the plants due to the string on the yoyo's not being long enough. These pots have the plants at a perfect height. So that plant is as close to the lights as possible now
I think I'm confident enough to transplant, I feel I now know exactly what to do. I'm a little drunk at this point though so I figured I will leave it till tomorrow morning.
Peace MagickZ

You should check to see if your nutes have a web site, to find a feed chart, proper use directions.
I myself start at around 0.3 ec and work up from there, in veg I never go over 0.75. Glowering drpending on strain and plant wants I may go as high as 1.75 or as low as 0.9.
