Give that flood and drain some time it'll grow on ya. I like the changes you made to your tent.

They are showing it right now too. the PPM's were bumped up to 710 and im now doing a flood and drain with the plants. though, im not sure if this method will be something i'll use going forward. i may just need a longer hose and continue with the drip system i had been using. took us a bit longer than expected but we got the stand and the tent built plus i added my other 400 watt light. here are some pictures of the process up to this point....
Looks awesome! so much more space without the res in there!

I have heard mixed reviews for seedbay. Some have a great experience some do not... I personally would just rather know it's going to be a good experience and order from attitude.

i ordered all these seeds im growing through seedbay. i never had a problem and would definitely recommend them. got some more gear today. got some 8" ducting. im going to run it straight from my central air into the tent. also got more nutes and a 1 minute interval timer.

In hydroton I flood for 30, and let sit for two to three hours while the lights are on, and only flood once during the dark cycle at the half way point.
Some can get away with longer dry time depending on your over all environment. It isn't all that much different from a drip system, other than much less maintenance and never having to worry about a clogged drip line.

gotcha. i need to play with mine to figure it out. i fear it will drain the res faster than the tray will drain out from the overflow. this damn res is only 90Q large.
i'll add that the total cost of that stage setup thing was $53. that included like $15 for 180 wood screws. but that shit is sturdy as fuck. anyway, i connected the ducting and that shit is working wonderfully! heat shouldn't be a problem this grow.

Awesome! Like the upgrades! Lucky you, you can just vent your ac into your tent. Aussie summer with no AC is a killer as im finding out lol

thanks for the comments fellas!
im not too happy with the development this past week, because i neglected the plants to a degree that made itself noticeable. so here is a simple teaser. day 36 i think. i've already learned a lot from this grow. it's being a real pain in the ass with 5 different strains and one nutrient solution. i fear that these plants will all grow at varying rates. two of them, a BMR and a Sour Diesel, are growing really really slow. they are like half the size of the others. but the BMR strain is really dense and compact. it's going to produce some tight buds im thinking.
this is a shot of most of the plants through the tent window. im feeding them at about 870 ppm and am now proud to say im doing a flood and drain set up. im feeding them for 20 minutes at a time 4 times a day. at 12 am and pm and 6 am and pm. they seem to like it. i've had to lower and raise the lights several times to get it just right for the plants. im just really wondering about these runt plants. these others will surely overgrow these two in the next weeks and into the flowering cycle too.

These pictures are from last night, which was day 41. Today is day 42 of vegetative growth. I will probably switch these young fine bitches over to 12/12 in the next few days, perhaps tomorrow. I know that I am going to have to pull one of my Sour Diesel plants as it's not growing right at all. idk what seems to be wrong with it (or me!). I am also fearful I will have to eliminate my other Blue Moon Rocks plant. It's lagging behind too, but not nearly as bad as the Sour D. I LOVE how tight the nodes are growing on that plant. it's pretty amazing actually.
that very last picture is the only one posted here that I took with the lights off. I'll do that more as these start to flower and there's more to take pictures of.

It's day 50 and im flipping them over to flowering tomorrow. They are looking beautiful! I'm getting rid of one of the sour diesel plants. it got fucked somehow as ive mentioned before. temps are between about 65 and 85 from the cold of the night to the heat of the light. not having too many problems. ive pruned the lower branches a bit. the weak ones that wont make it up to the screen. so now it's time to sex these bitches and figure out which ones to keep and then i'll add a screen and tie them all down. i have some really high expectations for this grow. Here are some pictures. PPM's are up to about 1300 and ph is a steady 5.8.

hoooorrayy! this bitch is just getting started now. the lights go off in just a few hours and they will begin their first 12 hour dark cycle. I've also topped off the nutes today with water (as usual) and instead of using the grow formula i switched to the bloom formula. i trust these babies will like it. im in desperate need of a can carbon filter with a fan. im thinking i will get this one....
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002JQ14F8/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_2?pf_rd_p=486539851
does anyone have any cheaper suggestions, or suggestions for a can filter? ive been looking on craigslist without too much luck. but it appears there are a lot of ppl growing herb around here, if the amount of shit for sale on CL is any indication.

Thanks for that link, I am also in the market for a new carbon filter I may try one of these out instead of dropping 150$ at my hydro store

Yeah, mine are worse in lights off.
Those are some super sexy looking plants man. I'm excited for you on this one.

See what you think on my first try.

Looking sweet. Must be nice to be where you can grow legal.
If they are starting to smell now, just wait till they have buds.
