 anyone live in oregon or washington?

I am gonna transfer somewhere next fall and I think I might transfer somewhere in those states for many reasons including mushroom hunting. I was just wondering, how cold does it get in the winter? I heard from someone that it rarely drops below 50 degrees is this true? If so I'm goin for sure.

thats not the only reason I live in Wisconsin and it sucks ass here I hate this state and want to move the fuck out for good. mushroom hunting is just a plus.

i lived there most of my life.
it definately gets below freezing.
move to portland or seattle if you can handle the city and can weed out good freindly people. if you can do that, those are the places to be.
don't know about many other places, I used to live in spokane, real small place. Pretty conservative, peaceful and nice.
i've heard good things about eugene. although it's supposed to be a big hippy spot. so that could be plus or minus, on the minus you could be living with a bunch of pot heads that don't do anything, on the plus you could be living with a bunch of potheads that don't do anything.

my brother just graduated from high school. we live in ohio. he plans on moving out to oregon at the end of the summer. meanwhile i'll be taking out more student loans to complete my five year college degree. i should have done something like that while i had the opportunity. im to far into student debt at this point to have such dreams.

Nah, this winter was REAL fuckin cold. Try 30's... WA. is a pretty kick ass place though, I love it. But it tends to rain a whole hell of a lot and it does get pretty cold... But our summers are usually pretty nice.

Eugene is a great town and it has a great college. I've never been hunting up there, but I know people who do and say there's plenty to go around.
California is a great state. Berkeley is hard to get into. But If you like hunting, I highly recommend digging around for some Cyans out here. Even if you don't move out here. Eugene is maybe 8 or 9 hours away from The Bay Area (driving distance).
I don't know much about Washington other than it has a ton of H. Probably not the best thing to be around.

transfering out of state isnt very smart mainly for financial reasons. You are talking out of state tuition, some of your credits wont transfer, and just the cost of moving across the country. I guess this doesnt apply as much if you go to a smaller community college
I would love to relocate up to Oregon after I get my degree but couldnt see myself doing it before then.

Totally, if you have free rent. Oregon is the cheapest spot in the PNW. Zero sales tax. Just don't forget to bring a coat. It's beautiful there in the summer. There's a great hostel in Portland. You should just check it out this summer. You could go to Mutant Fest if you go soon.

i just got back from portland a few weeks ago. and i heard numerous times that mushies don't really grow in abundance there.
could have been bad sources though. it never stopped ME from hunting them

That's what a hostel is. It's like summer camp for adults. Just a place where you can sleep for $15 to $20 a night. It's usually filled with college students, people traveling around the world on a budget, or just people who are checking the town out. There's one in Point Reyes that I like to go to that's right next to the beach.
It would be really hard to buy sex at those places as most of them separate the men and women and don't offer beds that can accommodate more than one person at a time. And some of them even have lights out at ten. I've met cool people from all over the world at hostels, but no hookers.
