 a few questions regarding hermaphrodites...

my mother recently finished up her first grow, and a few seeds aside, everything went pretty well. at first i suspected the pollination was from a male kept in another room for a while. but after harvesting and manicuring all the buds, we found that what really happened was one of the plants hermied out and nobody caught it...
its not that bad though. it mostly just pollinated itself, and the ones surrounding it just slightly with one popping out of a bud here and there. still plenty smokeable. not bad for a first time at all.
my question is, will the resulting seeds from the plants it pollinated also be hermies?
and is a hermie born a hermie, or are they a product of their environment?

Seeds made from a hermie plant with most likely have high rate of hermies.
So if her goal is to avoid hermies then I'd say trash all those seeds and enjoy the bud she got.
Hermies are sometimes a result of some form of enviromental stress, such as light leaks, over feeding, flowered beyond ripping/over ripping/, and so on.

The plants that got pollinated, their seeds are what you call feminized seeds. Almost 100% female rate, but they do indeed have a better chance at becoming hermaphroditic. they are still good to use but have a better chance turning hermie especially when stressed.

No hermie pollen isn't used to make true feminized seeds.
Hermie pollen has both male and female chromosomes as well as the high ability to pass on the hermie trait.
Feminizing is usually done with chemical stress treatments to create a male flower with only the female chromosome.

Yeah Stoneth you are right about how it isn't a true good feminized seed. I meant it is a feminized seed meaning highly likely tendencies to become female i shouldnt have said it was good to use.
