Yeah, I used to play, I still have my deck around somewhere hopefully. This game deserves more recognition, I would of loved a Magic The Gathering game on a PSP or a DS but it's not gonna get one.
I'd like to get back into it maybe. I'm actually gonna try out the online version right now. It might save me from a habit of buying cards again
I have an awesome Dark deck, I just need to find it.

I never cared for the MtG video games they're fine if that the only way to get a fix but to implement all the phases they have to really slow down game play when irl a lot of phases occur simultaneously
I use a black & red "Nightmare" deck and I plan on making B&G deck just so the people I play will have a chance

i used to play, as nerdy as it is it's actually really fun. i just don't have the time any more.
imo best decks are R/G fires. Quick and harsh. You can throw a bit of b or w in there depending on your style.

See, that term pedo gets thrown around a lot.
Is a 16 year old guy having sex w/a 16 year old girl a pedophile?
If not, then how is a 30 year old considered a pedophile for doing the same thing?
I think y'all need to look up the definition for pedophile.

I play friday night magic at the cardstore i found every draft and sealed night. AKA you draft cards out of packs or you just build decks out of a sealed deck.
Preconstructed costs to much for this guy, I have an eldrazi deck and a level up deck.
Blue and Black have always been my favorite colors, and the new set looks like blue/black zombies is going to be viable. The 30th is either the prerelease or release draft/sealed game day. I'll probably show up for both of the events just to get a look at the new set. Giving plasma 50 bucks a donation gives me geekout money.
I used to have a g/u squirrel deck legacy, a white soldier/suspend deck in time spiral standard. I had a White/blue legacy deck that was almost 100% control with a splash of mill. I would just own the board on games i won the entire game, and just force them to draw out more than me so they would deck out before me.
If you live near a card shop I would advise you play Friday night magic. Preconstructed is free, and draft/sealed are only the cost of the booster packs you use (3 packs for draft, and i think 4 for sealed and you keep the cards you end up with). Just don't be a douche and draft all the rares, draft is a format where synergy in decks will win the night. Control, removal, and any evasion ability (landwalking, flying, intimidate (new version of fear) are also big game winners. It's also a nice way to meet up with local players.

I used to play on that all the time until my friends just started to build turn 1/2 guaranteed win decks.

So we like the same style than?
You ever do the weekly draft on the mtg website? You're only drafting vs AI and the packs only switch out weekly, but it's decent practice.
You prefer sealed or draft more?

I have more experience with draft, but a few dumbass rare-drafters will ruin the games. So I can see how sealed could be more enjoyable. I think it largely depends on the quality of the players you are with.
Currently I've heard Blood-thirst R/B and W/x control is real big. But W or B control is always big in sealed because their control is removal.
Preconstructed tournaments are just silly though because 90% of people just net-deck, even the ones that say they don't. I don't know if you have seen any of the set previews, but the next block is in a horror style plane. Werewolves, Vampires, and Zombies (with demons and angels playing a much smaller role). The werewolf cards are cool, they "flip" aka transform ever upkeep if nobody cast a spell the turn before. and transform back to human if 2 or more spells are cast a previous turn.
I might make me a few decks if i get enough cards from limited stuff.
The main thing i appreciate about sealed is you are genuinely stuck with what you get, where in draft you can go in planing on 1-3 archetype styles. Last time I played sealed I ended up with less than 5 cards of two different colors. And both of the colors had a bad ass rare with it.
It's all good though really, it requires more deck building skills in my opinion to build a limited deck than a standard or extended one.

do you have any suggestions for either a black & green deck a vampire based deck
I currently use a black and red "nightmare horror" deck which centers around taking away your opponents options
but the new group I play with does a lot of multiplayer games and the nightmares only work when all the negative effects are focused on one player

I'm assuming this is a kitchen table game AKA everything allowed?
The past couple sets have given a lot of tastey vampires but no specific recommendations because Do not have much time on a computer. Black+Green is a color scheme I've never done. But Red+Green Aggro if they are no creature heavy decks your friends play will make you look dangerous because you'll be able to hit for 10 once you get 1-3 turns worth of creatures. In multiplayer the key is to not strike until you've been to provoked, or strike someone with a screwy deck you don't want to let get strong, Black green could work much the same because black has decent aggro since they get a lot of evasion (in the form of fear).
Check out Royal assassins for either, they are cheap rares that stop attackers (because when they declare attackers in the declare attackers phase you immediately tap them and destroy them before either the declare defender or the assign damage phase). A set of 4 in a multiplayer deck will make people think twice before attacking you (plus you can use them to destroy creatures that either are attacking another player, or since you don't care about their life total destroy the creature after they hit the opponent).
