Okay, I've got a variety of questions....I've been reading through the Growery for some while, and figure it would be much easier for me to make my own thread, considering my specific advantages/disadvantages.
1.My First question is....What should a noob look out for when flowering? I flipped(12/12) them last night, 8 plants total, and they are all in a perlite/(non-amended) soil mix. The ONLY nutrients I have are General Organics Grow, which I've used to this point with success, and General Organics Bloom, which I have yet to apply.
1.5What kinds of deficiencies should I be wary of with only these two nutes?
I have pretty hard water, but no water softener. I also have NO ph tester, and I do not PH-adjust my water when feeding. As of yet, there has been NO issue. Yay! Oh, and I do know that my water is approx. ph6.8.
2.Should PH or hard water become an issue when flowering?
I would love to believe that it is as simple as following the recommended feeding doses with only G.O. Bloom, but....I have a feeling I may run into trouble/deficiencies.
3.Is there an affordable nutrient(s) that anyone can recommend to me that can help with the overall, finished yield? Or possibly something like an organic, all natural amendment...
More specs: Setup is 250 watt HPS(remoteballast) with a fan in a closet, Plants are bagseed, vegged for ~5 to 6 weeks, are currently thriving, and have only ever been fed G.O.'s BioThrive Grow (the veg nute). Temps~76F daytime/~72F nighttime, R.H. 30%.
This is a preemptive strike! I don't want to be begging for help if/when my babies start to display deficiencies!
Any takers?
edit: I realize that 8 plants vegged for 6 weeks under a 250'er sounds odd. Because they are bagseed, I have no idea what their sex is. A mixture of topping, lst'ing, and maybe a little too much vegetative growth are all results of my attempt at keeping my population LARGE and DIVERSE. The males with be identified and taken care of in ~ a week(when sex shows). Then, I'll be able to properly utilize the power of the 250W'er....not too little, not too much. I hope this clears up any confusion.
Now, if you don't know your ph specific nutrients can be locked out so I suggest using some of your money to get at least some test papers and ph up, down. Then a 3 part nutrient system but the ph will be the most important especially since you have nutrients that you've used successfully in the past. Your environment is just as not if more important than the nutrients, if your plant isn't using them as efficiently as possible then its a waste anyhow.
"Other Thoughts: This is about the first complete fast acting organic nutrients line Ive seen or used. Its just so much easier than working with dry materials. Everything is bottled up for you, ready to go. I mix and water...Simple as that. GH recomends not keeping mixed solution longer than 24 hours. Aerate when not in use. Also, ph adjustments are not needed."
GH said in an email, as well, that PH is not a concern. Please explain (...or link me?) why even GH has neglected to inform me of this.
Secondly, wtf with the 3-part systems? I know that's the basic of the basic, but I wanted organic. So, I went with this line. When using this line, unless I'm once again mistaken, you shouldn't need a "three part' anything. Just....BioThrive Bloom and maybe some others?
I cofuzed.
Also, thanks for the first swift response. I just have a lot of clearing up to do.
