maintaining a perpetual setup...

Does anyone have experience in maintaining a perpetual grow setup?
In theory, one should be able to stagger clones by 1 week and have a harvest each week.
A new clone gets taken, a new clone gets flowered, and a new clone gets harvested. Even if you only pull 5g of smokeable material per plant, thats still 5g a week (which I personally never would go through).
My question is about the cloning. Assuming it takes about 2 weeks for a clone to throw roots, how would you go about working with the new clones? Once they are rooted you can treat them like any other plant, but how would you cut them to have them prepared in time?
Would it be practical to cut just one every week, and have 3 in veg at a time (since it takes 2 weeks for rooting) or would you cut a bunch all at once? Assuming I'm working with a space that could probably only hold 4 clones + the mother.
Would a weekly rotation even work? Would 1 mother plant be sufficient to support that large volume of clones? Or would it be best to go with a 2 week rotation to give the mother time to regenerate some branches to cut?
Whatcha think?

Folks I know with perpetual set ups usually have a rotation coming through only once or twice a month, but it all depends on the amount of space you're working with and how much time you want to spend on it at once. For them it's just makes more sense to do a lot of trimming all at once and throw a few big plants into flower rather than a little trimming and throwing in smaller plants every week. It's all about getting your veg dialed in so you're making the best use of your flowering room.
/Then again these are also people with med cards so they're also dealing with making sure they only have X amount of bud and Y flowering plants on hand at any given time.

This would be going straight from rooted clone to flowering. No veg time. Growing in party cups.

Well, sure, that's doable too. Works for Magash obviously. Just seems like a lot of cloning work for those of us not doing it full time.
/And like I ninja-edited: those guys have to keep their number of plants down to stay within the medical regs.
//I'm actually working toward doing a non-perpetual SoG just because I feel like the smaller plants would be shaded out pretty badly in the closet I'm using unless I did a "zero-veg" like you're talking about and I'd rather make use of the vertical space I have than worry about that. Right now I'm flowering out my Grape Ape mother just because she's kind of a slow strain and we'd rather get something else in the veg room.

I think it's a great idea. just need room for one mother, room for clones, and enough space for 16 flowering clones. I have thought about the idea. The thing that always stops me is the fact that I use my flowering chamber to dry in. I don't have another space.

Why not a drawer in a dresser?
You could make your mother and clone room the same room. Just use some t5's for lighting, they don't need much from what I'm reading.

I'm a perpetual harvester in a legal state where we have a plant limit, so we can grow as big as we like as long as the numbers are good and we don't end up posessing too much usable product at once.
For that reason we have only 12 plants, 6 in veg and 6 in flower. We have 6 different strains and are constantly rotating out underperformers and trying new strains to find super-plants.
We don't keep mother plants. At the end of a long veg we take cuttings from her before she is sent to flower and veg the strongest cutting. We have had some trouble with genetic drift and plants losing strength, so we just rotate that strain out of use because we have found some strains that don't drift.
Hope this helps. I envy those who can grow large numbers of small plants. Stupid government would have been better off limiting lights instead of plants.
