doggy dilemma

this is really getting me down beyond reasoning, the whole situation is making me feel depressed
So my dumb bitch of a neighbor bought a 14 month old Huskamute, (alaskan malamute x siberian husky) from a family of no good fuck ups. i know she bought this dog purely as a fashion statement and had no intention of giving it the mental and physical stimulation it needs, which pisses me off to no end.
after not even a day shes coming around our house asking if we want it, normally i would straight up say no, but after spending some time with this dog and realizing that if i dont take the dog in, it will be going back to the previous owners who are shitty scumbags. i found it hard to say no.
The thing is, this dog isn't from a reputable breeder and is a crossbreed notorious for a myriad of health and behavioral problems so i really dont want to take it on and get attached to it, then have to take it to the dogs home. But id rather at least give him a trial run than let him go back to his previous owners.
what to do, what to do. he really is a nice dog, and probably just wants a loving home which i could provide, but the potential health problems concern me.

I feel ya so much. Thats the reason I kept my dog. My girls mother dog was owned by people who...well, didn't deserve a dog to keep it nice.
They forced her out before she was ready (which is probably why shes so fucking stubborn) and we took her. My mom and ex kinda wanted to get rid of her, but I knew doing that would just be "passing the buck" so to speak. I knew I had more love to give to a dog than anyone else who would be getting her.
I decided to keep her, and after a lot of hard work and determination, I'd say shes a pretty good dog. Shes not so good about strangers coming to my door (which 90% of the time I'm OK with. I don't want strangers at my door.) and shes a bit too excited about other dogs, but she listens to me.
She only really listens to me though. I can get her to do/stop doing anything, but I'm her owner and it makes it hard to leave her.
I love her to death though.

Why should that mean it isn't real?

we decided to give her back to my next door neighbor, although i feel ive made such a huge mistake, he really deserves a loving home not to be put in the dogs home, or something worse. hes so great with people.
but it just wouldnt of been fair on our other 2 dogs and our cat, which the dog nearly bit the head off of.
haha ive been crying like a little pussy since we handed him over. but what really broke my heart was that he escaped from my neighbor and ran up the street to our house back to me
dont remember ever feeling so sad, or guilty in my life.

Awwww.
Just give your other animals some loves so they appreciate what they've got
