Free Dakta Green "Joint Effort" Protest outside Auckland District Court

Dakta Green was found guilty by jury of 3 out of the 9 charges he faced, cannabis possession, supply and allowing a premises to be used for the consumption of cannabis. The charges arose from a January 2010 raid on The Daktory which is the centre of cannabis law reform in Auckland. He has been remanded on bail for sentencing on 29th June, there is a very real possibility he could be facing a prison sentence!
WHAT DO WE WANT? We want to see the courtroom filled with supporters, protests spilling out into the street and the judge to convict and discharge Dakta Green!, we believe cannabis users should not be treated as criminals.

FREE BED & BREAKFAST! For all the supporters that live outside of Auckland, The Daktory are opening for Tuesday night (before the court case) There will be stretchers and couches to sleep on, tea and coffee facilities, and Dakta Jazz will be cooking Spaghetti Bolognese for Dinner and Scrambled Eggs with Toast and Sausages for Breakfast. FREE TRANSPORT! There will also be a FREE BUS RIDE to the Auckland District Courthouse and back to The Daktory! you will need to arrive at The Daktory before 8am as the bus will need to leave early to get to Auckland District Court before 9am
WHO IS DAKTA GREEN? Dakta Green is a New Zealand cannabis law reform activist and political candidate. He is the Waitakere regional co-ordinator for NORML New Zealand, the driver of Mary Jane the Cannabus, and founder of The Daktory. He was a candidate for the Aotearoa Legalise Cannabis Party in the Mount Albert by-election, 2009.
He was jailed for one year in Shasta County Jail in the United States in 1999, and for two years and eight months in New Zealand prisons from November 2002. On January 9th 2010, police invaded Dakta Greens home, The Daktory. He was arrested and charged with possession for supply of cannabis, cannabis cultivation and selling cannabis. On May 13th 2011 Dakta Green was found guilty by jury of 3 out of the 9 charges he faced, cannabis possession, supply and allowing a premises to be used for the consumption of cannabis. The charges arose from a January 2010 raid on The Daktory which is the centre of cannabis law reform in Auckland. He has been remanded on bail for sentencing on 29th June.
