i am bored. and want someone to chat with.
i mean, i know this board moves slow and it won't get lost in all the traffic, being a pretty useless thred and all... but i'm sure it can't be that much of an eyesore considering the only threads on here are practically related... and all about the same thing.

explain. the singularity has to do with physics... and physics have hardly anything to do with the human condition... other than maybe being light in a vacuum.

I'm more interested in the idea of a technology singularity in which technological progress becomes so rapid and intense that humanity is left to either join up with said AI or be quickly replaced and discarded as obsolete beings.

Where does AI get involved? i mean, you can say that it'd be like that even without some kind of AI. you could replace AI with consciousness, and it'd be a little more realistic, wouldn't it?

That's one of the main components of the singularity, the creation of AI and the implications for humanity.
No Krack, but I just finished Kurzweils book The Singularity Is Near, and it was great. Was the documentary any good?
