I have a Blue Dot clone that is appx. 4.5 months old. She has been healthy until about 3 weeks ago. The growth rate slowed, the leave tips browned and curled under. History: She again is 41/2 months old and 17 " tall. She lives in a pot 13X13X13. I use organic soil , Patio Plus by Kellog mixed with Organic Miracle Grow and recently added 2 cups of Manure. I water appx. every 2-3 weeks depending the dryness and weight of container. I water with rain water mostly and use bottled water when out of rain water. I have never tested the PH of the water . I fertelize appx. once a month with either Fish Emulsion diluted with H2o (5-1-1) or Dr. Earth Organic 5 (5-7-3).( Dr. Earth is supposed to last 2 months ) I spray the leaves with rain water mixed with root hormone appx. every other day. (the last 2 weeks only). I use 3, 60 watt Fluorescent twist bulb with reflectors. The side lights are appx. 1 1/2 feet from plant. The top is appx. 1 foot away. I keep the plant in my bathtub. It is raised to facilitate drainage. I keep the window open and also keep a fan on. The Ph of soil is 5.50 - 6.50. As for little critters, yes, yes, and yes. I first was plagued with fungus gnats. I used an pestisidal soap and after finding their little squirmy worms in soil, I flushed soil with 3 % Hydrogen Peroxide diluted with rain water. I also hung yellow fly strips. This seemed to take care of the gnats. Appx. 1 week after using bug spay, I noticed leaves curling down and leaves turning brown. I flused 3x with rain water. Its growing but leaves still remained curled. I will attempt to post pictures. I would appreciate any advice.
Keep in mind that any time you spray your plants with a solution, the next day you need to wash it off with regular, clean water. Otherwise you'll clog the stoma and the plants won't be able to breate... I found this out just recently via trial & error...
