I would definitely start cutting back on the grow and micro. Maybe just do the lucas formula (8/16 micro/bloom, or I've even gone as high as 10/20 but be careful with that), but keep your karma, sweet and silicate. You REALLY don't need micro and bloom to be almost the same quantity in coco, that's just way overkill in my experience. the highest ratio I've gone there is 6/9

So my room mate went out of town again and as usual he returns with stuff.

He brings home a screen for Scrog. Is it to far in to flower to add one?

He also saw a video on youtube where in flower, plants are creeping up through this guys Scrog and he actually just breaks the stem of the flower and just lets it hang over and heal. Is this as bad as it seems to be to me?

He also brings home sulfer, and a crock pot to burn it in. Is this shit bad to breathe in you home?

Yes, you're wayyyyy too late to be adding a scrog screen. And plus your style of growing is completely different. You're going massive bushes, scrog is for controlled canopies with more, smaller plants.

Also, did you just ask if it's bad to breathe burning sulfur? That's a pretty obvious yes, is it not?

my friend has bad ideas and i like when people say they are horrible on here because it backs up my argument. he's going to burn it regardless and if i don't like it too bad.

Have you ever smelled burning sulfur, or just sulfur in general?  A few minutes of that smell and he'll think twice about doing it constantly.

The sulfur might help your mildew problem, but it's not something you run constantly.

How do you guys think Sulfur compares to spraying for PM during veg/flowering?

I'd assume sulfur is the safer route.

I personally use organic sprays as a preventative measure, I know some people who spray throughout flowering even.

So glad to see your back, Maryanne.
And you finally got your well deserved TC tag.

We were just using neem as a preventative. I think the reason we got mildew was a combination of too many plants along with either bad clones, or I noticed there is some powdery mildew on plants outside my house. So the thing is, neem wasn't enough.

I have less plants now, spread out nicely, and we trim them more now.

We have not tried the sulfur yet. They have been trying to save money and wanted to burn it in a potpurri pot. Well it doesn't get hot enough. So we need to get money for a sulfur burner if we are to use that stuff.

So far the mildew seems to be "under control" if there is such a thing. Plants in flower look nice. Occasionally we find a leaf with some powder and we clip it.

I haven't posted pictures in a while, will try to take some more tonight when lights go on.

Sulfur would be more effective because of the way it's delivered.  Spraying is better when you need to be surgical with where you apply your solution.  I would be hesitant to burn sulfur when buds are on the branches, wouldn't think twice about using a spray bottle with an organic solution mixed in.  I've used neem oil in the past with moderate success in controlling it.  I hear though that a better choice is a mix of water, milk, and potassium bicarbonate.  I know the potassium bicarbonate is supposed to make the environment too alkaline for the PM, not sure on what the milk does.

It's my first grow. That's what I call a noob.
Thank you for the compliment, I studied growing obsessively and I still feel I have so much to learn.

I think it is time to flush. If a strain has an 8 week flower, do you generally start flushing in the 6th week? Just water, or slowly cut back on nutes?

in Coco I wouldn't flush until the last week. First day give them a solid run with FloraKleen or something similar and then just water for a week and they'll be delicious. (Or, I keep molasses during the flush, helps with the flavor, or does absolutely nothing, depending on who you ask)

Just letting everyone know I will not be finishing this grow. 2 of my partners will. I am moving back to my home town because a job is waiting for me and I am unhappy here.

Thanks for watching. Hopefully someday I will start another log.

:frown:

I don't know the whole story, but I'm guessing there was a conflict of interests with you and your partners? That sucks, I've had the same problems before when working in a group environment, so now I just grow with my brother (can't really have any kind of conflict of interests with family!).

Do you plan on growing back in your home town?

Right now my plan is to go to Vegas and stay with family through the World Series of Poker and try to get some money. So tired of sitting around the house all day every day with no money of my own. After that I want to travel a little. As soon as I settle down again, my number one priority will be to start growing.
