About to start a couple mother plants. Advice?

I have % gal. buckets that i am planning on making a circulating drip system. My medium is hydroton. Any Idea's or advice? I have never done this

grow lots and lots of plants pick the one that shows your favorite traits to grow as a mother water fert and love....

doesnt matter if you have clones or seeds it will still take a lot of patience to find one you want as a mother. When you get that one special one you will know it..

I usually start topping really early. I use Bonsai Mom procedures on all my moms for the most part other then keeping them in Bonsai. I like to top when there are four nice side branches. Those will grow into my open cup, form, and I start taking clones from those 4 branches, which will branch off into a forest if you keeping taking clones or cuttings from her when she needs them.

Here is actually a reference I look back to from time to time. Its also on the Growery.

Really if I am doing hydro moms or soil moms I still look at how he cuts them, just because I like the way he grows his moms.
I top my usually at 4th-5th node. It takes a little while to recover, yes but once they recover they explode into bushes and I can get them to form that open cup.
