 How to clone unsex'd plants?

First time cloning, few questions:
I have 12 plants from bag seed in Veg right now, none of which I know the sex of.
Should I:
1) Put plants into flower
* Wait until sex shows
* Trash male
* Put best female back in veg (dedicated area)
* Continue flowering rest
OR
2) Take clones
* Mark and label plants and clones
* Put clones in veg area
* Flower the 12 plants
* Once sex shows, trash the respective clones in the veg area.

Well, it depends. Are the current plants in veg a size you would want to flower? Also, i dont know if you going to be doing any seeding, but its not always a bad idea to keep a male around for seeds. Me personally, I would take clones, then put those clones into flower and then check for males. That way if you have female clones you can leave them in flower and harvest a crop of bud, while your mothers are veg'n. Just the way I would do it.

They are about a foot tall now, so I'm going to wait until next weekend to move to flowering.
I thought that clones should be put under 24 hour lighting for the first couple weeks? Is it safe to put them right into 12 hour lighting for flowering?

Well, you'd want to make sure that the clones are rooted first. Once your clones have roots you can put them in a red party cup and then flower em, I believe thats what Magash has done before.

The strain in the cups is my Sweet 16. That is the one I bred for people that like to grow SOG style.
These are also Sweet 16 in one gallon bags.
  
It took me fucking years to get this strain pinned down.

Well we have a garden in CO and are planning another one there so we may be looking for workers soon. 
We're also expanding into the San Diego area.

Let me know when your coming down. I stock clubs but the clubs I supply changes all the time depending on what they want and demand.
