I've been looking into getting a projector for my basement, i plan on using it mainly for movies//ps3.
Anyways i'm not very knowledgeable with projections or TVs in general, the little research i've done has told me i need lots of lumens, and a high contrast ratio.
The projector i'm currently looking at or my #1 option is the Epson ex71 2500 lumens, 2000:1 ratio.
Could anyone with any knowledge of projectors please give me any helpful info on what to//what not to do before i drop the cash on this system.
Thanks a lot!

Somebody else referred me to this one as well, seems like a nice option
2500 lumens 4000:1 ratio and 3D capability!!

I still don't know much about these//which brands to buy.. seems like i haven't heard of many of the companies that produce projectors.

I looked in to them before buying my 65" plasma. I did not like the speeds of the lower-end (below $10,000) projectors. I thought games looked blurry when there was a lot of action. Plus, you always have to contend with any light source in your room. I like to have a lamp on at least half of the time so I can see my pets, drink, etc..
I would definitely focus on refresh and contrast capabilities.

Yeah the speed is a big concern for me but i've heard a lot of good things from people who own them.. So far i think i'm going to go with it, just have to decide on the speakers now

Imo, projectors are not the way to go for gaming.
A good digital tv would be better suited For that task. Projectors tv's burn out bulbs frequently so keep that in mind! They are however nice for movies. Research the diffent options to find what is better suited for u!
