 Growery GPS- Growery Point System

I propose, similar to what was done over at the Shroomery, that we develop a "Growery Point System." The more I brainstormed ways to boost our members and try to get this forum active again was to bring back the point system that failed at the Shroomery.
I feel the system only failed at the Shroomery due to the Shroomery's size already. Basically users were exploiting the system and since they had soo many people exploiting the system for free supporter accounts, I think it pissed off the people who were actually donating and probably started taking away from revenue a bit since people no longer had to pay for their support status.
Anyways, to help revive/ grow our community I think we should bring back the point system, or a version of it. Members would get a certain number of points for new member referrals that are confirmed as well as a points for making posts (over a certain # character requirement for them to count for points). I believe strongly that if this system were put into action over here, it would certainly boost our numbers and hopefully bring us a new crop of members.
I say we run the point system for a trial period of 3 months and see what happens. If it proves to be a success, continue it. If not, we scrap it. No harm, no foul

I think it is a great idea, would help getting people. I used to try to get my friends on here but they never really showed interest (since this website is an english forum, they don't speak the language really well...)

I thought it was an awesome idea,
but if it's going to work like money people will try to exploit it
but I'd totally be ok with a superfluous awards system like the cheezeburger network had or xbox and PlayStation

We have a small community so the number of people exploiting would be small
And even if they found a way to exploit it, then all they get is a free supporter account. No money value
