I have 2 little "nublets". That's my pet name for them. They are 2 of the 3 White Rhinos that had severe nutrient burn/lockout from the hempy style cups. I haven't given up on them yet. They are showing improvements so I figured I would post them.
And the others.... Looking pretty damn good if you compare them to the pics of them from the doctor's diagnosis a few weeks ago. Some are almost fully recovered, others have a ways to go. Most of the nutrient deficiencies/lockouts are so much better then they were.
As you can see by my thermometer, humidity is not where it should be. I try to mist them a few times a day. I can't wait to leave the desert and go to California!

I noticed you said that you pH your water before you put your nutrients in, and then again after. There is no need for that at all. Just do it after you put your nutrients into your water.

Just moved all the plants yesterday.
Had a 4 hour drive, but we are now in a legal state growing legally.
Was worried about the plants, but here they are this morning, looking great.
BTW, I never use any HST. These plants have been tied down and that's it.
Remember the nublets? ..... not so small anymore

So we've removed the tent. We painted all the walls flat white. These plants are to be the mothers. Our next move is to take a clone from each one and test flower all the genetics. We are putting shelving in for clones with in the next day or so.
Any comments, suggestions, tips, questions?

Found a much better alternative to black plastic over carpet at Sam's Club last night. We paid around 80 dollars for 3 packages of this stuff but it was well worth it.

The big ones I have started from seed. Each large plant is in coco except for 2 White Rhinos which are in Happy Frog soil.
The little ones, they are clones I purchased from a trusted grower, legally here in Cali. They are all in coco as well. I have been feeding them with Pure Blend Pro Grow, Liquid Karma, Cal Mag, Silica Blast. The PPM on the most recent feeding was 485. I am a little worried about them. They don't look horrible, but I want them perfect. Some of the leaves are a little taco like. And some minor discolorations as well.

So here we are in the flowering room. Right now we have one 1000w HPS and one 1000w MH going 24/7. Ultimately all the plants will be in 5 gallon pots and we will have 4 1000w HPS going when we switch to 12/12 within this week.
Originally we were going to flower 24 clones only. I decided to take Harry's advice and flower some of the nicest plants I have grown from seed since they look fabulous. Just going to keep a close eye on them since I have never tested the genetics before.
So the 4 I grew from seed are up front. 2 Super Lemon Haze and 2 Church. I think we are going to go through and remove the shortest clones and give them a longer veg time. So end result will be 20 of the clones and the 4 big moms in front.
Will keep posting. All comments welcome.

However, I was just doing some work in my veg room and found this.

Yea, but if it is in the veg room, there is a possibility it is in the flowering room too.
I just went to the hydro store and purchased SNS-244. I am definitely spraying it in the veg room when lights go out tonight. Will probably spray some in the flowering room just as a precaution.

It's been a while, so here you go.
Remember the seedlings?
Shouldn't have started the seeds.
Running out of space.
Optimized the space in the vegetative grow room. Or tried to....
plants looking good. reluctant to get enthusiastic due to that mildew scare....
One of the original seedlings.
LST at work on another original seedling.
So many vegetative plants!
WTF?
Way to think things out.
And in to the flowering room...
Day 12 of flower.
Yet another one of my original seedlings up there front row ready to flower like crazy.
and the clones i purchased....
no training on them transplanted, rooted, flowered
not really eager to make videos due to the mold scare and my warcraft addiction.

Those are 1kW HPS you're flowering under right? If so you have them way closer together than is necessary, usually the rule is a 4x4 footprint per kW.
I like it better this way

Yea, they are 1000w. I guess having them close worked out good because it's a dense jungle in there and those girls need as much light as possible.
There's a few pieces of advice I would give all noobs trying to pull something like this off.....
Plan your shit out way in advance. Put a lot of thought in to the actual placement of your equipment.
Don't buy 30 clones and start 30 seedlings unless you have lots of room and equipment.
Harry, I was looking through your log and I really love that picture you have in the center on your signature of maneater. I used that as my desktop background.
I do have a question,Harry. The very first plant in your log.... guess I better look it up.... "The Bubblegum Clone" that lived from the previous round, I noticed you kept chopping the top. Was this to conserve space? I loved the roots on that plant. Would you suggest cutting some of my plants that are in vegetative growth like that? I was thinking it would help with my space problem and keep the size of the plants down until it comes closer to their flower time. Just wondering what you thought.

I basically just trimmed it down in order to keep all my plants a similar size so I could get that nice even canopy. Since that plant had such an established root system compared to my clones I knew that it would grow WAAAYYY faster than the newer plants so I just tried to keep it cut back so everything would stay nice and even.
And yes, cropping your plants like that isn't detrimental in the slightest, if you're having space issues I would definitely recommend you do the same. One thing you should keep in mind though; when you cut the apical meristem off (the primary point of cell division at the top of each branch) then the axial buds (the branching sites at each node) will receive and auxin signal to rapidly grow. So your plants will get smaller, but a couple days later they're going to explode with bushy growth so you'll have to keep an eye on them and do some consistent pruning.
Good luck! I'm glad you like that picture

So far, all of my plants have never been cropped, just tied down. So they have monster main stems. I think I will cut the top tip and take it from there. But I'm not really sure. They are way too bushy, so I might take a more aggressive approach. Will keep everyone updated.

I know I just put up a happy video but I was only like that because I was drunk. Here's the real deal. I keep finding mildew. At first I kept telling myself it was from lack of air exchange, but who knows? Maybe the clones I purchased had it. I am very worried my garden may be ruined. This is the 3rd and final time we are trying to get it under control. The thing is, the plants in flower look beautiful. But their lowest set of leaves always look like that leaf in the picture above when I first found the mildew.
I have no idea how much of this mildew is in the buds, or how the plants will look by the end of flower. We are not sure if we should just start over or what. This sucks.
So tonight we ripped the room apart. Sprayed everything down, room and plants. And we pretty much butchered the plants. I fear all my bud will have mildew in it and I can't sell that.
Here are some pics I took, as we were half way through the job. You can see the clones were all trimmed and sprayed and allowed to dry before we began loading them back in to the flowering room.

I don't see any mildew in the newest pics, but I guess that shit is hard to see with the HPS on.
What's your RH in the grow space?

40 percent. Highest I have ever seen it is 50 but it usually stays low 40s.
Yes, those pics look gorgeous. It's impossible to see. Mostly a few bottom leaves here or there are showing just a little powder here or there and just a little bit on the lowest stems. We have already thrown a couple plants away.

Well if it's just fan leaves then I would trim those leaves off instead of trashing the entire plant and see if you can fight it off for the next 4-5 weeks until harvest. You have a shit ton of an investment to pay back and I don't think it's prudent to trash your entire first crop for a tiny little splash of mildew. Try to keep the RH in there absolutely as low as you can, and maximize airflow (this might even mean investing in a dehumidifier which can be major $$$$). I would let all the current crop finish, and fight the problem as you go, but then clean out every square inch of the room after the harvest so this doesn't happen again.
Oh and also STOP GOING TO DISPENSARIES FOR CLONES. I think that should be lesson #1 for every new grower. I never even knew what spider mites looked like until I started going to dispensaries, Then I nearly lost two entire crops to them and only after taking 10 months off from growing have they finally disappeared (so far, knock on wood)

I didn't go to a dispensary. I went to a grower that my friend followed religiously on youtube. He trusted him. We have no idea if this was the cause or not.
Realistically, WE DID NOT NEED CLONES.
I hope other new growers learn from my errors. I had beautiful plants that I had grown from seed. There was no reason for us to go out and buy more. Shitty planning. We figured the plants I grew from seed could be mothers and we would throw the clones right in to flower.
It's just fan leaves for now, but I have no idea if that shit is in the flowers. And don't dispensaries test for that shit anyway? I think we are fucked. I hope I am wrong.

Hmm weird. My guess would be that grower got his clones from a dispensary, or has another grower with the issue etc... It gets passed on in so many ways it's fucking infuriating.
Some dispensaries will test and others won't. Hopefully you'll be fine, and if you can increase your airflow and decrease the RH in the room then realistically the PM won't be spreading and you can finish the grow. If I were in your shoes I'd rather have a couple pounds of "I hope I can sell this" than 15 plants in the trash.
Best of luck to you

I don't know about TOO low, but I grow in Colorado where people call 15% a "disgusting humid mess" so I'm thinking you'll be fine.
I usually grow around 10-20% RH and never have any issues

Not sure if I mentioned in this thread but we have a tent with 4 plants we are going to flower now too. So that's a total of 5000 watts of grow power.
All of my vegetative plants are in 7 gallon air pruning pots. They are going to be sick fucking huge when I flower them. 2 plants per light.
I try to remember to take some pictures in the flowering room when lights come on.

Sorry for that last post. I was making excuses for myself not feeling like doing anything lately. I still don't have flower room pictures. Lights are out in there right now. I need to go take some tonight.
One of the original seeds I grew in the beginning of the thread. Plan is to flower this next time around.
We sorted through all the clones we purchased. Some were thrown away, some went in to our tent, and the very best ones were kept, transplanted in to 7 gallon air pruning pots. These clones have been difficult to train all along. Right now I am doing a combination of tying them down and clipping. Want to make them in to strong monster plants, as close to the condition of the plant shown above as possible.
The 4 clones that were chosen to go in to the tent. As soon as my room mate returns with the switch, these will go in to flower. We will have the 4000 watt room going, then when lights go out, one of the ballasts will be used to power this tent. Our goal is to either get 3 more tents, or just set up another room (running out of room in the house) so that we can have 4000 watts going for 12 hours during the day, and the other room will have 4000 watts going at night. This is in addition to the vegetative growth room. These plants did get some LST, and now I have just been pruning, clipping them down. I will probably end up taking a little more off of the tops of these plants because I worry about them growing too tall for the tent.
Remember the latest batch of seedlings? They are not seedlings anymore.
And finally, the clones. Not that we have room for more plants..... Seedlings need to get transplanted in to bigger pots, and these are ready for coco.
Still need to get you an update on the flowering room. I am overdue to make a video too.

I know it's probably hard to tell from the pictures but are the plants too green?
Guy at the hydro store said they look like they are too green and I should lower the nitrogen.
I am using a slight variation of Lucas formula.

What's your feeding rate? I think they're fine if they're not yellowing yet, but they should be starting to here in the next week or two.
You should tell us your ml/gallon for all your nutes so we can see where the N is at.

Maryanne suggested I use these numbers:
N 100-140 P 40-60 K 200-250 Ca 125 Si 70 Mg 60 S 60
The recipe we created comes out to:
N 134 P 72 K 203 Mg 64 S 56 Ca 128
This was after fucking with different a combination everything, could not get K just right without high P.
Exact amount of fertilizer per gallon: 4ml Flora Grow 7ml Flora Micro 8ml Flora Bloom 8ml Liquid Karma 5ml Sweet 5ml Pro Silicate

I would definitely start cutting back on the grow and micro. Maybe just do the lucas formula (8/16 micro/bloom, or I've even gone as high as 10/20 but be careful with that), but keep your karma, sweet and silicate. You REALLY don't need micro and bloom to be almost the same quantity in coco, that's just way overkill in my experience. the highest ratio I've gone there is 6/9

So my room mate went out of town again and as usual he returns with stuff.
He brings home a screen for Scrog. Is it to far in to flower to add one?
He also saw a video on youtube where in flower, plants are creeping up through this guys Scrog and he actually just breaks the stem of the flower and just lets it hang over and heal. Is this as bad as it seems to be to me?
He also brings home sulfer, and a crock pot to burn it in. Is this shit bad to breathe in you home?

Yes, you're wayyyyy too late to be adding a scrog screen. And plus your style of growing is completely different. You're going massive bushes, scrog is for controlled canopies with more, smaller plants.
Also, did you just ask if it's bad to breathe burning sulfur? That's a pretty obvious yes, is it not?

Have you ever smelled burning sulfur, or just sulfur in general? A few minutes of that smell and he'll think twice about doing it constantly.
The sulfur might help your mildew problem, but it's not something you run constantly.

How do you guys think Sulfur compares to spraying for PM during veg/flowering?
I'd assume sulfur is the safer route.
I personally use organic sprays as a preventative measure, I know some people who spray throughout flowering even.

So glad to see your back, Maryanne. And you finally got your well deserved TC tag.
We were just using neem as a preventative. I think the reason we got mildew was a combination of too many plants along with either bad clones, or I noticed there is some powdery mildew on plants outside my house. So the thing is, neem wasn't enough.
I have less plants now, spread out nicely, and we trim them more now.
We have not tried the sulfur yet. They have been trying to save money and wanted to burn it in a potpurri pot. Well it doesn't get hot enough. So we need to get money for a sulfur burner if we are to use that stuff.
So far the mildew seems to be "under control" if there is such a thing. Plants in flower look nice. Occasionally we find a leaf with some powder and we clip it.
I haven't posted pictures in a while, will try to take some more tonight when lights go on.

Sulfur would be more effective because of the way it's delivered. Spraying is better when you need to be surgical with where you apply your solution. I would be hesitant to burn sulfur when buds are on the branches, wouldn't think twice about using a spray bottle with an organic solution mixed in. I've used neem oil in the past with moderate success in controlling it. I hear though that a better choice is a mix of water, milk, and potassium bicarbonate. I know the potassium bicarbonate is supposed to make the environment too alkaline for the PM, not sure on what the milk does.

I think it is time to flush. If a strain has an 8 week flower, do you generally start flushing in the 6th week? Just water, or slowly cut back on nutes?

in Coco I wouldn't flush until the last week. First day give them a solid run with FloraKleen or something similar and then just water for a week and they'll be delicious. (Or, I keep molasses during the flush, helps with the flavor, or does absolutely nothing, depending on who you ask)

I don't know the whole story, but I'm guessing there was a conflict of interests with you and your partners? That sucks, I've had the same problems before when working in a group environment, so now I just grow with my brother (can't really have any kind of conflict of interests with family!).
Do you plan on growing back in your home town?

After that I want to travel a little. As soon as I settle down again, my number one priority will be to start growing.

Well, my good friend is remaining in Cali and finishing the grow. He's sure to send me some pics and I will post them.
Also, the youtube channel, Caligrowgirl, continues. My friend in Cali just posted a video I made before I left, and he plans on posting videos of the plants before he cuts them, and the final nug shots once they are dried.

In this email, he told me that this was the total of the OG Kush plants. (The purchased clones) It would appear that here, there is almost 4 pounds.
A day or so later I got this. He said they were finished cutting, drying, and curing it all. (There were 4 additional monster plants to go with the OGs). But when I asked hime what the total weight was, his response was, "I already told you 4 lbs."
So I am guessing they pulled 4 pounds total.
Not bad for a bunch of noobs, but not making a living for four people either.

You should still be very proud
I'm assuming from the amount of time you spent on here that you did a hell of a lot of research and most of the work there. Great job!

I got to smoke some of it last night and today. The OG kush is unbelievably dense and potent. I loved the Super Lemon Haze so much but sadly we were so drunk and stoned I lost the baggie and didn't get to bring that home. The church was reddish, and airy and smelled like potent cheese and I did not try that because I was not in the mood for an indica. I can't even spell, I feel great and I'm going to yoga. If anyone watches the youtube channel, I am sure there will be a video up soon of us being magoos.
more pics to come

piccccsss. I'm curious to see how mine compares and how long did you let them flower for I had to cut down a bit early due to PM, they could have gone another 2 weeks easily.

BTW does anyone know how I can change the line under this post tag to say "completed" instead of "in progress"?

after hanging out with him last night, he clarified.
the top picture was not a total from the OG kush clones, it was just a picture of some of them. that's almost 4 oz.
He got 4 pounds dried total from everything. Had a lot of fun last night celebrating.

Updated picture of the vegetative room. My former bedroom is being used for another 4000w room. No pics of that yet.
OG Kush
Super Lemon Haze
The Church
I'm by no means a connoisseur. I've been smoking medical for less than a year, possibly tried 12 strains or so. The bud we grew was the best I've ever had. So proud.
Yet to try The Church. I actually found out it's more Sativa than Indica which makes me excited. I have always preferred Sativas.
