Might be true. If you think it over. And I do not like it.

I don't believe in the "everything happes for a reason" thing.
I think most, if not all things happen because they are attracted into one's life via the Law of Attraction

is that not a reason?
if things didn't happen for a reason, everything would be completely random.

I think saying "everything happens for a reason" is much easier to accept than something like "shit happens". Especially when something crazy happens, say your entire family dying in a car crash.
The same is true with general religious beliefs and conspiracy theories: They all serve the purpose to temper the fact that we, and everyone around us, have very little control over anything

umm... hmmm... some of you guys are making choices based on your biases in your point of view.
think about this... who do you influence? where do you live and why? do you move around alot or not?
there are lots of reasons why there could be things seemingly out of your control.

It is interesting to think of us as conscious beings who make our own choices, but we forget, we are made up of cells, each of which has their goals in their life. How much the individual cell actually influences the greater being is an interesting topic I've been reading about. But to give "reason" behind it?
I could explain why "the secret" is a big marketing scheme, go through the techniques of influence and manipulation used throughout the book, just naming the book the secret works on the scarcity principle; naming the pseudoscience theory, "the law of attraction" appeals to authority, but it wouldn't matter.

you know what i did in english class? I came to class stoned out of my mind every day, i chugged vodka in the back of class, i put dead fish in the ceiling tiles. i put a gallon of old milk and orange juice in the file cabinet before winter vacation. i brought snakes in a tied up sweater and let them loose during class. i didnt go to school to learn, i went because i had to. i didnt care, and i didn't fucking listen to that stupid bitch. and i still don't fucking care. i tore the pages out of her books and burned them, and threw away all the books in the class, two books per day.

I can only speak from personal experience (who cant really?), but it would be illogical for me to think anything to the contrary after the things which have happened to me in my life. Wether or not these were all coincidences is meaningless, I am just grateful for the experiences, good and bad.

I like to play with the idea in my head that there is a "plan". Its comforting. Although I don't believe it completely, its certainly a possibility IMO.
Would it really be THAT much more bizarre than the various alternatives? When you really think about life, and even the fact that our bodies keep functioning in a (mostly) perfect manner...its incredible. Try to think about how many processes are going on inside of you right now. There are so many things that could just fuck up and fail and kill you immediately, but, somehow, it doesn't. .
-------------------- Of course it's happening inside your head.
Why should that mean it isn't real?

I do not believe we have a set path for everything that happens in our future. Shit indeed does happen, but based on our random choices and the scientific proceedings of our surroundings, not because we have some inevitable set way things will happen...
You can't really prove either way, it's just the way I think...
It makes more sense to me that everything is happening as it goes, being influenced by current decisions and happenings of everybody and everything along the way and not on some destined track...
Some things are obviously inevitable based on that. But that's just science, common sense, and the way things work.
Cause and effect.
I think some people try to believe that "Everything happens for a reason" because they are trying to find comfort in a way that he or she had or has no way of positively influencing an event that they do not like the outcome of or that is going to happen...

Yeah, I think things happen based on Cause and Effect, I don't need to believe in Karma, Law of Attraction, or that a bearded man in the fucking sky has a plan.
I've seen cause and effect work every single time throughout my lifetime.. I try to avoid theories that might seem delusional to someone who uses logic/rationality.

Doesn't everyone pretty much say the same thing, every time in these threads? I find them quite humorous myself.

But it happened for a reason. You know like the parents are completely fucking stupid aids having motherfuckers and continue to fuck their brains out thus producing a child born with aids.

I see what you mean. I meant more "God's plan" kinda things. Law of Attraction can be used to one's advantage were as "God's plan" in Christianity and other religions is merely an excuse to keep sheeple calm is dire situations simply by saying it's all part of "God's plan".

They weren't asking for it, and they weren't asking to be safe from it either. I can garuntee you that the Africans never even knew about aids at least til thousands of them had already died from it.
Aids started and spread because the elite want to heavily de-populate the world and they will do all it takes for their grand plan of world domination. It would be easy to introduce aids somewhere. All you'd have to do is get just person sick with it one way or another, then it will spread.
In other words, the Africans were easy targets for the psychotic elite of the world and they didn't do enough to prevent it. Don't blame the Law of Attraction
Many examples of when the Law of Attraction has worked can be found in the book and DVD called The Secret

Everything happens. Period. What laws of nature allow us to continue to live through a lifetimes worth of moments each with its own outcomes to the degree of a particle is beyond me, brahs.
