"Users crush antiretroviral (ARV) medication and mix it with rat poison, detergent and marijuana to get high"

That's fucked! Prohibition at it's ugliest :nonono:

I believe things can happen for a reason but if you live your life based on the assumption that everything happens for a reason then you'll just sit there waiting for something to happen rather than go n get it and make it happen...

Hm, some interesting viewpoints. I think ideas like this become easily convoluted and misconstrued when they trickle out into pop culture as they have... to the point where I end up seeing them reiterated (and explained quite improperly) on an internet forum...

There IS a scientific basis for LOA type thinking. I think consciousness is a bigger factor in reality than most people give credit for.

Even if you're solely scientific and rationalist, you CAN NOT deny the role of consciousness in reality, while still being honest. From the simplest stance, all data from "exterior reality" comes to you in the form of electrical impulses coming from your "sensory organs" to your brain. Where the brain takes those "ones and zeros" and translates those bits of electricity into experience....

"Everything Happens For a Reason," is a whole other deal. Anyone remember a show from the discovery channel about a decade or two ago called "connections?"  See if you can find it. That is probably the easiest way I can explain the "everything happens for a reason," concept to those not familiar.

Basically the idea is much as it sounds, but not so simple. More accurate would be "everything is interconnected, and everything affects everything else, some things actually causing others that you would never expect to be related."

And yes, this is often used to help make people feel better in "why me?" kind of situations.

Hiding from ourselves, among ourselves...

Nine billion people on the planet, all feeling "alone" all experiencing a guilt free world in which they blame "god". A severe multi-personality disorder played out 9 billion times interacting and playing with itself a timeless tale.

This almost approaches an understanding of my view of the universe. Yeah. Fucking crazy.
