I like rooting for the Marlins. Always an underdog team and I have a boner for Hanley Rameriz. Sadly he wont be a Marlin for much longer

NL- I am a Reds fan. AL- I go with the Indians

Havent had anything to root for with the Indians, but the Reds are looking very promising. Not only last year, but they have such a corp of young talent that they could/should be a force for years to come. They have the old GM from the St. Louis Cardinals, the guy knows how to build teams.

Yes, being AT the game. Dbacks games are fun, especially when they are hosting a good team

I wish there were actually some decent sports teams here. I mean we got the Suns but I havent lived here long enough to really give a shit about them. Then the rest of teams all pretty much suck

Probably because Dbacks was easier to fit on our teams jerseys. That's my only guess. I agree its stupid.

Like when the Tampa Bay Devil Rays became just the Rays.

Wont argue there but the Reds have a pretty nasty staff too. including our bullpen

He's just pointing out that another professional franchise kept the "Devil" part of their name. I dont know WHY the Rays changed but I like their new uniforms better anyways

In related Rays news. I just read today that both Johnny Damon and Manny Rameriz. Too bad they lost Carl Crawford, Carlos Pena, and a bunch of pitchers. Soriano to the Yanks. Garza to the Cubbies. All moves made in the name of salary cap.

That's my only beef with baseball, no salary cap.

Yep.

I cant believe Manny took 2 million. But I have a lot of respect for him. He said "ive made my money, I am playing because I love the game."

I am not full of shit. I read the article with him and Johnny Damon. The article was about how they have wanted to be teammates again ever since they both left Boston.

Manny certainly could have gotten more money to play other places. The guy made 20 million last year.

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=6080160

"I'm here, like I said, because I love the game, I love to compete. It doesn't matter how much money you make," the .313 career hitter said. "If you love the game, it doesn't matter. What you want is a chance to prove to people that you still can do it. So for me, it was not about the money, I could have gone someplace else."- Manny Rameriz

What's your beef with Manny? He is one of the most likable players in the league.

What are you, a Red Sox fan? I am an Indians fan and I still love Manny

And of course he isnt the player he WAS, the guy is like 40. But now that he is back in the AL means he doesnt have to play defense. I think he'll have a great season. He loves proving haters wrong. And since he got Johnny Damon to come join him, he must be pretty happy right about now

If you dont think Manny could have taken more money other places then you just dont know very much about baseball, the guy is a future Hall of Famer

Manny being Manny.

And he wasnt juicing how  some other players were. Going from being tiny to bring huge. He had some growth hormone he shouldnt have had for injury recovery. But yes, he technically violated league drug policy

Manny being Manny is probably one of the most common used phrases in baseball. I didnt just pull that out of my ass. Manny has never been known as much of a defensive player

And yes, I do believe it was for recovery. The guy was already big. He is getting older and older and keeps missing more games. Hints why he is back in the AL

It's not just Manny's numbers, it's how clutch he is. He always seems to come up huge hits when his team needs them the most

I would agree now. Manny is in the final 1-3 years of his career
