Red's are 14-2 since the All-Star break and now have the 2nd best record in the National League trailing only the Washington Nationals by 1 game.
Since the MLB expanded the playoffs this season to include 2 extra teams, I think it is fair to say the Reds are a lock and could do big things this year. I could see them playing in the World Series.
Oh yeah, and all of this winning is going on with Joey Votto out. Look up this guys contract, he has something like a 14 year/ 170 million dollar deal. Ridiculous.
I think the Reds should make a move to get 1 more excellent pitcher before the trade deadline. We have some guys like Mike Leake, Homer Bailey, and Bronson Arroyo who can have great games and who have all had solid seasons, but if we could add say Matt Garza to the lineup of Johnny Cueto (agruable the Cy Young favorite in the NL now) and Matt Latos, you then have a very dangerous starting 3. then rotate Bailey and the others as needed.
The Reds also hold the best bullpen in the NL with setup man Sean Marshall and fireball pitcher Aroldis Chapman who sports double digit saves and a sub 1.50 ERA. He holds the record for the fastest pitch in MLB history at 105.1 mph. The guy has amazing control as well
Reds for World Series Champs!!!

Could care less about the Reds. Joey Votto is good though, and ya'll do have some other good players too.
Go Braves!

Braves suck
Reds now have the best record in all of baseball and have been doing it without reigning NL MVP Joey Votto. They are now 16-2/17-2 since the all-star break. Have pretty much clinched a playoff spot already with the expansion of the wild card positions
I would have liked to see them add a starting pitcher prior to the trade deadline but guess they are happy just to make the playoffs
They open a series against the Pirates today (2nd place team in the division) and they need to at least split the series to keep on track
