Yeah, it was definitely fucked up, and that does say a lot about the quality of life over there. There's a lot of issues we have in America that a lot of people are unhappy about, but at least we've got clean drinking water. Those troops were fuckin pricks though. I was talking to a guy one time a couple years ago who had just gotten back from Iraq and he was telling me that young kids, 5 or 6, would walk up to them with shoe boxes and they would tell the kids to stop, and they wouldn't stop, and they would have to shoot the kids because some of them were putting bombs in shoe boxes and walking up to the soldiers to blow them up. That dude was fucked up from that shit. Like, he was not right at all after coming back. Shooting a kid would fuck me up too, but I mean if they're walking up to you with bombs, what do you do? Know what I mean?

It would really mess you up for sure, because you wouldn't know if a kid was safe or not. so you'd end up shooting everyone you weren't sure about. SO i cant believe what it would be like to come over here, i bet he doesn't trust anyone here either.

terrible situation to be faced with. what makes it worse is the soldiers go through all these horrible things, then once they are traumatized and no longer fit to be on the front line, they are sent home and forgotten about. there's not enough help for these guys once they get back.

Yeah, he was definitely quick to want to fight if there was any issue. I mean something that was an issue, but could be settled easily without fighting, he was like nah fuck that I was in Iraq. Like still in full on soldier mode, know what I mean? I believe it's called PTSD.

Hearing about killing those kids, I actually have a friend in the Marines who told me many times he's unsure if who he/his group killed were even terrorists.
BTW not all soldiers do that, in fact most give out candy to the children and play with them, why the fuck is everyone here so caught up on generalizing groups, yet us stoners get generalized and you guys get PISSED.

haha, actually I got a chuckle out of that, but what if the kid just grabbed the grenade, pulled the pin and threw it in the humvee saying "do YOU want a hand grenade?". Then it woulda been a LOL...

watch the documentary restrepo. how some of these people just get into the life of getting shot at everyday is beyond me, but when there's no clear uniform to identify the enemy and you are getting shot at daily, well mistakes get made. that is war.
not that we should be there in the first place, but I know quite a few people who join because of no other clear options.
