Actually no. Well it may be your opinion that you don't like it but the Titanic has been remade about dozen times since 1912 and is a very well known original motion picture throughout the generations. The movie has made billions of dollars since the first releases... Anyway don't base your opinion on the latest 1997 romance film because half the movie is about a fake love that never happened on the original titanic and they stray to far from the original focus of the titanic ship... The Titanic is a classic movie whether you or I want it to be or not. I think you need to go over grandmas house for a little while and watch some original black and whites.

I was basing my comments on the 1997 version. I didn't know any had come before. Film is the one thing I don't know anything about and am not interested in knowing more. One of the reasons for this is because they keep making the same movie over and over.

Yeah. That's art, if you dont pay close enough attention, it'll look the same. But what did you mean by "consumerist bullshit"

I meant that the movie was designed to sell tickets to the general public, not to be art. Movies by and large are garbage, including indie and art films. Not just Hollywood. There is something about the genre of film that attracts a lot of non-artists who think they are creative, but then they just end up sucking or selling out.

No way man. Artists write, play, direct, and compose movies. Producers job is to sell them. Yeah, the producers will have a lot pull in film to make sure they produce revenue, but art none the less. At least that's the way I see it.

I know there are like 200 movies I've looked into with completely unique story's, screenplays and dialogue, acting, direction and cinematography, production standards, locations and concepts. (when you look for dynamics in the film's piecescause obviously one thing that is different will help something else to be different.)
And they are ALL before the turn of the new century.
New movies... I am not going to say they suck... I already said that enough, no, I am going to say they are abhorrent to the art of film making. Every person that works on production has equal parts usefulness and individual expression of the art... which NOW sadly has become so much about business... (like it has for the longest time still yet people always tried to override it to obviously avoid film "making" from collapsing) ... so much so that there isn't any room for anyone to do their "job" (however you wanna put it) properly.
Just saying... check my journal entry here if you feel like looking into a few unique ones I was searching for one day.

Do it, I guess. The quote nonsense was annoying me. All I wanted to do was responed to him.
But whatever, it was a general statement... so who cares what name is who's?

For future reference to reply to someone just simply click the "reply" button just above the post they have made or click the "Quote" button and type what your reply will be under the code that shows up in the text box...

meh... I don't see what the problem is. You can just remove the name entirely. It doesn't matter. All I wanted was the words quoted so it was obvious my reply was in response to that. (ie, it was really annoying to snip up as all I wanted wa already there, and I rushed)

Well, thanks. But what happens when the person has quoted 5 different quotes already and you click quote... then you gotta remove 'em all and so a little snip job. That's all that happened... I just snipped the wrong name. oooop.
