Most of the time movie adaptations of H P Lovecraft's horror are b-movie fluff. From Beyond and the Re-Animator are just a couple that were fun, but hack jobs at the same time. If you do a search for Lovecraft on Netflix you would see what I mean. I am pretty excited right now though becuase I just found out they are putting some big guns behind two Lovecraftian movies.
Ron Howard is making one of them about a fictional story about Lovecraft himself. It is called The Strange Adventures of H.P. Lovecraft. I bought a copy of the graphic novel at Borders tonight.
Guillermo del Toro is doing a version of At The Mountains of Madness. This one has me really excited, in an admittedly cheesy fan-boyish way. This story, about an Antartic expedition, is the first Lovecraft story I ever read and it hooked me solid.
Lovecraft may have written all of his stuff 80-90 years ago but it always seems fresh to me.
Anyone else a fan?
-------------------- I am not a cannabis grower. I find the cannabis growers to be the most open to experimenting and sharing out of all of the different botany groups I enjoy. I frequently use the suggestions that I find to apply to own organic gardening and food production.
