so this little girl popped up several weeks ago, shortly before i harvested my outdoor crop. my only guess is that a branch or two of my outdoor crop hermied and dropped a seed, but i really can't be sure. i do know that no one deliberately planted her. there is also another little one that sprouted near to this one (you can see it in the first pic but i moved that one inside to see what will happen).
this picture is from the 17th of October. still fairly small, barely peaking over the edging around the outdoor garden:
this is her now, as of the 29th of October. she has tripled in size in a little over a week:
she is still in veg as far as i can tell from looking at her node spacing and is just now showing sex.
i'm wondering if it is possible for her to veg through the winter (even though the days are getting shorter and shorter) since the season is basically over but she has not even begun to flower yet. should i just let her do her thing and see what happens?
i guess it's a big of an experiment.

If it does not freeze in your area I guess you could leave it, but I imagine that as the days get shorter it will act like forcing flowering in-doors

Holy crap, you both know this is the Growery, right? jk. Can you keep this updated for us? I think it should work. The days will continue to get shorter until 12/21. I guess it depends on how cold it gets. hopefullly you dont get a bunch of seeded bud out of it.

we shall see, eh? it's been warm enough during the days, but getting nippy at night; it's even a bit chilly right now. i do remember reading something about covering it at night to keep it warmer if it does get too cold, but i'm not sure what i would cover it with.
i'll try and keep this updated, although i can be very forgetful at times. the stalk on this thing is bigger than a regular sized bic lighter. i wanted to dig it up and move it inside, veg till spring then put in back in the ground, but i don't have anywhere to put it inside.

Haha, how cool. Even if it does start to flower now, it won't be all bad. People grow 12/12 from seed and get decent results...especially from a random surprise plant.

Man I wish I could do some outdoor growing. I just got back from a friends in southern oregon to help him with harvest. I loved being around 7-8 foot tall plants. I'll get some pics up if I can, there weren't too many of em left by the time I got there.
