I used to use that active carbon kitty litter, forget exactly how much it was, but It was cheaper than those you listed

thanks I'll probably go with the aquarium stuff. easy enough to drive out to a pet store. but has anyone ever tried the brewery stuff if it a higher or lower grade carbon as far as air filtration goes. Probably hard to determine. How much should i use i plan on using a 6" 160 cfm or maybe even 8" 210 cfm inline fan from home depot. just gonna use it for mj smoke for now but possible for a 250w grow later, maybe 16 oz of carbon?
Those home depot fans are not nearly strong enough to pull air through a carbon filter, you're gonna need something a lot stronger and can flowwith static resistance on it.
As far as how much carbon to use, even the small ones that work well, use several pounds.
