You lose brain cells all the time, and no I do not feel any dumber when I get done drinking alcohol and killing brain cells.
If it does make you gain a small amount of brain cells, it would be unnoticeable. You wouldn't just feel smarter all of a sudden.
I'm no neurologist but I am pretty sure some types of brain cells have nothing to do with intelligence.
