I post very little on mine. It mostly just feeds my nosey nature.
I wonder what it would have been like to have something similar when I was a lot younger.
FB can be cooler in a way when you are my age, 40. There has been a lot of time for history with some of my friends and some friends I would just be stuck wondering whatever came of them not having any other sort of contact in 20 years.
I've got some ex's on mine who were hot when we were young but looking at them now turns any wondering about what if we had stuck together into a whew! Glad I got out when I did. 
Then there are a few that go the other way and have me going "that turned into THAT!?"  
The biggest problem with my age group is that so many my age and older don't even know how to turn a computer on so they are not there. That is changing more every year though. I added an 83 yo former coworker who I think the world of just earlier this week. She is quite active too.

I log into my facebook in AIM instead of my AIM handle.
I'm on facebook for a large amount of the time, but only because I'm home so much.
I facebook at the college library a lot too since I probably shouldn't be getting on the growery.

i don't have a facebook or a myspace because i don't want to reconnect. i just wanna be left alone and grow weed. i don't even want to really smoke the weed i grow, but i find gardening to be therapeutic.

yeah, that's the cool thing about FB. Before facebook (and myspace too i suppose) people would move and change numbers and you'd lose touch. Now it seems like all my old friends have pages. So there's really no reason not to remain lifelong friends, unless you consciously make that decision to cut someone out. Plus that shit is on my phone. im not sure how i feel about being so connected. But it is really nice to have that network in place in case I truly ever need the full support of my friends and family.
but it pisses me off that i can't talk about drugs on there!

I've thoroughly responded to all the people supporting the protest shit. I don't really give a fuck if they have a mosque there or not. I come off as an asshole, but I just don't have much of a tolerance for what I conceive as bullshit. I can see both sides of a more complex issue, but the mosque ordeal is really cut-and-dry to me. One of this country's founding principles was freedom of religion.
