Your either not using enough CFLs and dont have enough lumens, or the plants are stretching for the bulb, move the lights closer

Here's my 2 cent.
First go Hydro. Bigger yeild and faster growing. It will take time but a lot less than soil. Invest in good lights. Not CFL. They will not give a good yield.
The picture I am posting is about 2-3 months old. I have 11 plants growing. You can see that they are all doing well.
Hope this helps.

yeah ive been doing some reading and hydro seems to be the way to grow. if i can get a halfway decent yield off these i'm going to invest in a lil setup

do HIDs work better than CFLs for vegging? I have a 350-watt and a 1000-watt hps for flowering just no ballast for them... and i did pinch the stems to try and stunt the loooong stemmage

for sure man...
You can use your cfls in addition on the sides to promote the plants getting bushier.
Metal halide is arguably the best for veg. or blending Mh with some hps on a circular light mover.
