Ebb and Gro - Buckets 2000w (update 9-8-10 with pics)
    #463685 - 08/19/10 04:50 PM (14 years, 3 months ago)

I haven't really seen many growlogs with this type of setup.
After using it so far I gotta say it is soo user friendly, and simple to use.

I figured i'll start a growlog of my progress. I have a bunch of random clones received from a friend.
Snow White / Venus Fly Trap / Wonder Woman / AK-47

Mixing up a whole tank is easy as pie, and draining the tank is easy too. a great setup I only paid $450 for the whole thing and it even came with a whole starter kit of nutrients.

Kept these hanging up in case anything breaks. I can't find the pumps online anywhere. My local hydro store doesn't have any bottom feeder pumps, but has inline, so I could just hook a hose to it if I need to.

I hang up the feeding schedule from IONIC
This is what I am following on this grow.

______________________________________________________________________

I am on like week 3 or 4 and I have turned back the light from 24hrs to 20.

I may keep this for 1 or 2 more weeks before I flower them.

Tell them to get their shit together.  A hydro store without submersible pumps?

no, no... they are submersible, made by sunleaves, but are not "bottom feeder" (quoted by the hydro store)

But I can take the thing apart and hook an inline hose to it and make it the best bottom feeder ever?
I don't think he ever took em apart.

Oh cool. I am just confused.  What kind of light are you under?  Your grow looks like you really know what you are doing.

Awesome Oatman! I have the exact same setup(except I just purchased a 6 site add-on also today,so I will be doing 18 at a time ).
Those babies look nice and healthy to.
You must have plenty of heighth room? Arent you worried they may grow into your lights with such a long veg time? Excuse me for the noob question, but is that pretty much standard to have a month for veg?

you are not the only one who is harping at me to bloom now.
My old hand says the same thing. I have plenty of room.

I am building a trellis here soon and will bend down if i need to.

Yes, they are very healthy.
I am following the ionic schedule and these ebb and gro systems and I gotta say how much i love it.

I really gotta say it's very easy to maintain.

I just drilled a vent into the room from my existing central air. It's been super hot here lately. :mad2:

I also have a buddy with a commercial grow. 8000w - 42 sites. (non bucket grow)
HIs shit is 3 weeks ahead of mine

Thank you for posting that vid. I didnt realize that the roots would be sitting in standing water. Going to Menards today to get the pvc tube to make spacers.

I'm glad you learned something from it.
even if using a spacer, the roots will still grow down into it.
Not a big deal

I added an air stone to my res.
and doing so will help with root rot.

Honestly, even sitting in the water like that, it shouldn't be an issue, it's used as a safety mechanism.

I have started to bud them
I have a 1000w on for 11hrs and another 1000w for 11hrs
simulating the sun rising and setting.

they look wonderful!

I had also considered putting an airstone in the res for extra aeration, well,my mind is made up for sure that Im going to now.
Aeration is king!
Im also going to be using this product in my feeding program called Root Excelurator(House and Garden). It claims to add a membrane around the roots protecting from harmful bacteria and fungus, also protects the plants from root disease and will also cure existing cases of root rot.
Im going to be following your log closely
I bet your going to have a kick ass harvest, those babies are monsters already and now your just starting to flower.....I cant wait to see what they look like about 5 weeks from now!
Keep up the good work Oatman!

Thanks,
I feel that root rot shouldn't even be a problem when you have (some) aeration occurring with the fall of water not to mention changing the resevoir every 14 days.

I am following the Ionic Feeding schedule to a T with ph adjusting the water after adding the nutrient.

(I am attaching the 2 page PDF to this post)

I have this laminated and hanging in my grow room for guidance.

Changed the tank today 25% grow was left, I topped off and filled the rest with Bloom

Ionic Bloom
Thrive Alive Organic (splash)
Silicon Blast (Double Splash)
Ionic Boost  (splash)

ppm is at 1250ish
ph is 6.0 (piss color on the tester)

I will change the tank here soon 7-10 days and this time I will add GreenFuse per the ionic schedule.

I should upload a few more pics soon, and maybe some spoilers of what 4 weeks in looks like from a buddy

Sorry I haven't updated this. I am about to harvest and will make sure to take a final pic.

Still gotta say this method was pretty cut and dry. I actually WANTED to do more work.

I would find myself just standing in the room in a daze with nothing to do.

Perfect for noobs like me and even the experienced cultivator.

(i was told by an old hand that rock-wool cubes and even the clay hydroton absorb the nutrient and the salts build up throughout the grow)

Having said that keeping the ppm around 700 during the whole grow was recommended (rather than the 1200 from ionic inc.)
I will do this on my next grow.
