How importation is your nute line compared to other growing factors

Myself and another member have a lil disagreement and i would like to hear other peoples opinions, so we know who needs to eat there hat.
How importation is your nute line to the harvest of your bud? i say it has "very little to do with your outcome"
I know people swear by there nutes. i, myself am in love with the fox farms line. that along with suiperthrive has kept me happy. But with that said. im sure there area dozen other nute lines/ compost(teas) i could use to achieve the same exact thing if i had clones.
I would expect the nute line you choose to be in the bottom 10% of things that will effect your grow.
-First would obviously be genetics, you cant really argue with that -2nd would have to be lighting. with out these two things being proper then you can expect the words best piff even if you have your proven nute line. -third would be ph if your ph isn't right then you wont be using your nutes anyway- the same stands for aeration weather its hydroponic or soil. - for lack of better words i choose to say outside interaction i dont care how good your nutes are neither do deer, police or pickers.-Security i would say is more important to your harvest then your nute line
Your nutes areimportant but I feel just about everything is more important. with nutes coming i last.
ill have more points to state these are just the first ones that pop out to me.
I would love to hear points from both side of the argument I would love to learn something new

Well first off I'd like to say that pH is included in the nutrient factor I think. I would just like to assume people are pH'ing appropriately for this discussion.
I'd put it at second right behind genetics. your list is skewed to specifically not include nutrients, I mean, if police or pickers come to snatch your buds, then do genetics matter even? The short answer is no. Now assuming that your plants won't get snatched and that you have good genetics, then you need to choose nutrients to adequately push those genetics to their full potential. No matter how great the genes are if your nutes aren't giving the plants what they need then your yield will be affected

okay. its just seems like such a noob thing to me to worry about your nutes when there are so many other things that need to be taking into consideration. it reminds me of how everybody thinks what "strain" of cubensis they get will effect there yield and potency. i will take what you said into consideration. and i understand that i am talking with two people who really know there shit. I still feel when everything else is said and done that the nute line is not so important and its just the N-P-K rating that will effect the plant threw out the different stages of its life. " assuming that your plants won't get snatched and that you have good genetics, then you need to choose nutrients " (well you all ways have to expect the unexpected.) but yes you do need to choose choose nutrients in this case are you saying that (for example) "fox farms Tiger bloom" could grow you better bud then other nutes with the same NPK rating? minus all the micro life it has because i proper grow should have that flourishing anyway, especially by the time its flowering. i understand hydro or soiless might be different but this argument stemmed from a soil conversation.

Yes sir that's exactly what I'm saying. Quite frankly NPK seriously doesn't mean that much, sure those are the three macronutrients required by almost every plant on earth, but it's really the micronutrients and various enzymes and acids in the solution that really kick the plants into overdrive. I fed two plants identical "base" nutrients (gen hydro 3-part) but one of the plant I supplemented with cal-mag and that plant yielded a full ounce more than the other plant. The NPK there didn't matter in the slightest, but the magnesium, calcium and various fulvic and humic acids really boosted the growth to whole new levels.

I think this thread actually has some legitimate value for discussion however. I'm going to do some selective editing and let's keep it rolling.

Epsom salts are what I usually use for Mg, so you'll be good with just that. I think calcium deficiencies are pretty rare, especially with PBP

and since it is outdoors he is prob using tap water which probably has a lot of Ca.

what cal mag additive do most people prefer here?
CAMG+ doesn't contain any nitrogen and, according to the label, has about twice the calcium as Cal-Mag plus (3.2% compared 5%), and only a small difference in the level of Magnesium (1% vs 1.2%)

does most tap water have high levels of Cal? I thought that was mostly an issue with well water

Harry, you're confusing me here a bit. In another discussion, on this topic, you brought up the fact that pot was a pretty cal hungry plant and that "thousands of growers experience calcium deficiency".
