so ive known a couple guys who have done this,
Ive wanted to do it for years but never had the balls. kind of like right now. Its a pretty drastic change.
http://www.wwoof.org/
Would probably even stay here in the US to keep visa costs and travel costs down, although it would be cool to do it in Australia or some Asian country.

I am studying sustainability anyways, so this is as close to hands on experience in my field as I could possibly get
I just know if I take a break, it is going to be a pain in the ass for me to get back into college. Need to pass this semester first basically, and get back in good academic standing

There a shit ton of these places locally. They produce some good vegetables and sell them for cheaper than some stores around here.

Yeah they are every where. You work for the family and in return they give you a place to live, food, and sometimes a small cash stipend.
Plus you choose what you want to specialize in.

I think I might have to look into that. Really it would come down to what families have an opening in something that I want to do. Mainly organic beef or poultry.

ive been wanting to do it for years
I dont think it is realistic though. I would have to start paying back student loans and have a hard time getting back into a school once I got sick of doing that

Why would you have a hard time getting back into school? Sure you'll have to pay loans back once your grace period is up, but as long as you don't consolidate your loans you're able to get your student status back anytime you want.
Fuck, I graduated last year and went back to school for a semester in the spring just to keep the loans off my back for another year.

a) because I likely wouldnt be able to start paying them back, since I have no job, so would probably end up defaulting on them
b) my GPA is 1.66 because of last semester. Right now I am scheduled to retake them all, which would bring me back around a 2.6, but if I drop out, I would definitely have to go to a CC
After a lot of thought, I am going to try and stay in school. At least for 1 more semester. That way I can get back in good academic standing before making a move.

What courses if you don't mind me asking?
Were there any classes that you just didn't get, (a) bad teacher(s) or just pure laziness?
I can sympathize for all three.
Spring of my freshman year was all f's other than my scholarship activities.
It was a learning experience to me, that unlike high school, I can't fail every other class. Because I'll eventually have to pass them again anyways.
And I lost my scholarships for a semestor because of it, and almost couldn't go last fall.
But yea, get your GPA up at least.
Honestly with you having student loans I'd say just stick in college. Because no matter what you're going to have to pay those off.

laziness
about 3 weeks into the semester I just stopped going to all my classes. Decided it was much cooler to stay at home and get fucked up all day instead
needless to say I will be taking next semester very serious. if I dont pass all these classes I no longer have the option of going back

Yup, describes me the spring before last perfectly.
On school nights I went to bed before 12 every night.
One of the things that started me not wanting to show up, was being behind on assignments and loosing stuff too.
So I made a 3-ring binder for every class with every paper I got from that class, and used my student planner.
I felt like a nerd, but without it my laziness would take command.

A large part of what made me stop going was that all my classes do a lot of group work. I would miss 1 day and feel like I was fucking up my group and shit. Plus I am not a fan of giving class presentations

Yea, debate/forensics/plays pretty much fixed that for me.
Idk what to really suggest for that.
