security: tor/pictures

I'm looking to find out more information about what I should do to my pictures before uploading them, security-wise. What sort of information can be in digital pictures and how can I remove anything important? I have access to Photoshop CS3 on a Mac.
Would also like to discuss Tor. Mainly, how secure is it? Can I expect my posts/uploads made from my home wireless through Tor to "definitely" protect my IP from being discovered, or would it be reasonable to go to a more anonymous internet source?
Obviously, I'm wary about uploading pictures, but I definitely want to have a grow log, etc. Would just like to be as secure as possible in my sharing. Thanks for any help.

Virtual tunnelling and VPN software are anything but anonymous. You connect over the internet via secure tunnelling, and you are given the address of the server from which you have connected. A compromise of your information can be obtained, traced, and documented.
It's what people use to connect with at work while at home. It provides security from the outside world (internet) through to the inside corporate network.

Take a screenshot of your picture open on your computer, then save that as a replacement for your picture, it wont have any of your information stored in the code

i assume you're talking about information that is not contained in the image summery, in the properties (well, in windows anyway)? That sort of information can easily be removed with the delete key.

Thanks for all the replies, everyone.
Don, I don't think Tor is a VPN, though I have to admit I don't understand this stuff very well at all. Could you elaborate a bit in layman's terms? From wiki:
Quote:
TOR and the alternative network system JonDonym or JAP are considered more resilient than alternatives such as VPNs. Were a local observer on your network (ISP, WLAN) to attempt to analyze the size and timing of the encrypted data stream going through the VPN, TOR or JonDo system, the latter two would be harder to analyze as demonstrated by this 2009 study here.
Good idea on the screenshot, NI, that would probably be pretty foolproof. However, screenshooting and cropping every picture sounds tedious, so if anyone knows a better method, feel free to join the convo.
fungi, I've never heard of ninja cloak before, but since it's a web-based proxy, I'm inclined to assume it's not as secure as the proxy I'm already using, Tor with Privoxy. I'll definitely have to keep it mind if I'm ever on another machine though, so thanks.
Nanook, yes, I can delete everything in the properties relatively easily. I just want to ensure there isn't any other information embedded in digital picture files, or perhaps some sort of automated process that I could put all of the pictures to be uploaded through at once to delete their extraneous info.

There are better ways of hiding your identity on the internet.

I use the growery server to upload. I dont think my camera supports geocoding and that would be my concern.

Yeah, some cameras have GPS and encode the exact location the picture was taken for those of you who dont know what geocoding is
And I would not recommend using those to take pictures of your grow
All cameras however leave some sort of information on the picture file, such as camera model, the date and time, and maybe the serial number of the camera, and probably all the other details it could possibly pick up on

Many a chick on 4chan has been identified using the GPS shit.
It gives your longitude+latitude I think.
Specifically the Iphone I know for sure record said date.
[admin edit] is a girl specifically that had her life ruined-ish by said function.

I think these days people put way too much information in their phones.
Fucking government can use your cellphone as a listening device, even while its turned off.

no, i just upload simply using the server here. The information that's tagged to a photo by your camera when the pics taken is called metadata. Just gotta be careful. If any of you feel up to it, you can go here...
https://www.growery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/247210/fpart/1
and see if you are able to pull any information from the pics that might get me busted. but if you find something, PLEASE pm me and don't post specifics here. I'd hate to have to remove those pictures. but i dont think that's necessary.

i ended up just reading the journal and browsing all the awesome pics,
