We have been using the bontanicare 45 power cloner. The leak problem has been fixed. After one week, the clones all look healthy, no roots yet, but just yesterday a sticky white buildup started collecting around the bottom of clones and on the foam inserts. It looks a little cummy. Has anyone else had this problem with it? What could it be?
I have Mexican pings that grow in a water tray, which will develop a similar scum on the water and pots if i forget to clean it out for a few weeks. I honestly never researched it much, but I always assumed that it was a basic white mold
It doesn't really get too bad, I think because the room they are in stays on the cool side (under 75 degrees). But I'll still treat the water with some peroxide and wipe the pots down with the same
liek mary said algae is green maybe your thinking a bacteria build up which it could be. sounds like its not hard liek salt so thats a dead give away. add small amounts of peroxide to control bacteria if you find it being a problem.
