I got my EC meter today and my PPM @ 700 conversion is 280 PPM I believe General Hydroponics considers tap water to be hard when it's 300+ ppm but I think 280 is very close.
Should I use RO or use their hardwater micro?
If I get a RO unit I want one that splits my faucet so I can pour tap or RO.
For like 35minues it was sitting at 70, then I pulled the probe and put it back in and it doubled to 140. It seems to sit at 140 now. I tried my trucheon also and it was at 140 but that's also it's lowest reading. :P
I hope this meter isn't wonky. I'm going to get some calibration solution tomorrow and figure out something for a reservoir of some sort so I'm not mixing 2gals of nutrient solution at a time.
Edit: Turns out I had some calibration solution and it's spot on. I think the lower reading had to do with the tap water coming out colder than the probe and the probe needing time to adjust to the same temperature.
