I'm looking into possibly trying my hand at growing and was wondering how people deal with humidity issues; considering the combination of high heat from lights and the constant exchange of air?

As in to much or to little humidity?? It sounds like your referring to too low. I personally wouldn't worry about too low. I grew for years in the desert with no issues, humidity level around 10%, and produced spectacular bud.

Ya the only thing you need to worry about for low humidity is your little sedlings or clones... Buy a dome to solve that issue on a small scale.
An issue I ran into was perfect humidity in day hours but himidity spike at night due to the low temps. All I had to do was increase my airflow at night by adding another exhaust fan that runs only during night hours. Now I have 45%-55% 24/7

Humidity dome, cut a 4 decent sized holes in it; and then tape the holes with micropore tape. Occasionally take off the dome for a hour or two. I soak the living crap out of my plants in the rock wool starters. They love this setup.
