 1200w HPS Indoor Closet Hempy Grow, 3 strains - (Updated Pics 7-31-10)

*******This was a 600w grow till around the 5th/6th week of flower when I added another 600w light*******
This grow contains:
2x White Widow x Big Bud (Female Seed Co)
2x Venus Flytrap (Nirvana) fem
3x ICE (Nirvana) fem
1x Safari Mix (Mandala) freebie.. (BOY)
These are growing in straight perlite, I started them in jiffy pellets, every one I planted came up. Been above ground since April 3rd, just moved them into their temp. home in plastic cups. Will be moved to 5gal buckets when they fill out the cups.
Was seriously considering SCRoG, but I think I may just end up tying them down..
Will post pics in a day or two, after they get some real leaves.

-Bagseed are still a little sickly from a ph imbalance about a month long, have the meter now though, they are coming around, I'll post them once they green up some more.
-Now using the AN 3-part in Lucas ratio for the bagseed.
-Obtained a bottle of FloraNova Grow today, this will be used on the good seeds, plan to pick up the bloom next month after I'm getting a little closer to the 12/12 switch, will probably suppliment with Kool Bloom, and maybe Gravity, not 100% decided yet. Also Picked up Dark Energy "A proud Product of Humboldt County" actually made by American Hydro.. The guys at my local shop seem to love the stuff.

Couple pics for today, 4-10-10.
Two ice plants seem to be doing well.
The Mandala Safari Mix plant seems to be growing the quickest.
And Here's a shot of the bagseed plants as promised.
Bout a month old, just been getting the right Ph and HID for about a week now. They did have lockout pretty bad before that.. Seem to be coming back pretty well though.

4-12-10, Noticed weird growth from one of my WWxBB crosses, the growth tip isn't like one I've seen before, its more of a "cup" at the tip, and the stem connecting it to the main stem seems elongated.

Update 4-14-10
Good solid growth from all of them, they got their first dose of Floranova grow last night, 190ppm and ph of 5.9. Seem to be doing fine with it so far.

Starting to FIM and LST the bagseed, now that they are regaining health.
First FIM on the shortest and widest bagseed.
This one also got FIM'd and is really branching out good on the bottom, not sexed yet though, I'm leaning male.. 
Though here's one from the same seed and it is a girl.

This one was tall and lanky with no bottom growth at all, I had even removed the bottom fans because they were basically dead anyway, I tied this thing down barely a week ago, and look at all the new growth already.

Here's a few group shots, of the main 7 and the 2 newest seedlings, I feel like the growth is kinda lackluster for 26 days on these bigger ones.. I don't know 
They got a little burn goin' on because I raised the lights a little. They all also seem to be having the first set of leaves yellowing and drooping, I thought it was signs of being cramped at first, but I checked roots on the biggest one and they are just reaching the bottom.. If you have any ideas I'm open to suggestions.

One of the Fly Trap's got chopped down this past sunday, which was the 8 week mark on the nose. I also harvested WWxBB II a day or two previous to that and it was highly unimpressive and thats why there are no pics, I just decided I'd smoke on that one for now to keep me going until I can get a proper dry and atleast short cure. Theres that and my Ice plants still have a fuck ton of white pistils and clear trichome's.. Even though its nearly leafless and quite yellow, trying to keep it alive, it got a small dose of just FNB yesterday, I wanna let it finish out right but I don't wanna keep giving it food... Anyway, here's the Flytrap 'fore it got knocked down.
       
And heres a couple shots of whats left of the girls in the garden. They were taken through my passive intake on the end of the room.

Yup, sure is. I'm liking it so far, took me a little while to get the swing of things. Tortured some bagseed gettin' used to it, hoping to have some good results.
I also decided to stop fooling around and went ahead to the store and picked up a bottle of Floranova grow. I'll keep the AN stuff around for my bagseed and whatever else it comes in handy for, seems to do well on the girlfriends herb garden.

For seedlings I don't really fill the bottom Hempy style, I just keep wetting them a little everyday so that the top layer of perlite stays wet and supply's good moisture to the seedlings, this is important when you have such little plants under HID lighting, they can dry out quick.
Regular watering of mature plants get's done about every three days, if they look like they're doing well on food I will water with just ph corrected water every other time. Sometimes when they are hungry I may feed them two three times in a row. That will probably change quite a bit after the transplant though, and as the plants progresses through different stages.

I've been considering doing SSH next round, gearing more towards the sativa side for that one. I have Neville's Haze Hybrid waiting for that cycle already.

Decided to start one more Ice and one more WW x BB, as I am looking at keeping a mother of both. Figured three of each gives me a little better chance at having a nice vigorous mom. Not to mention the one ww x bb is being all retarded and lacking a true growth tip at the moment.

correct me if Im wrong.. I know trying not to over water is important. but if you added a little bit extra, would the heat from your HID evaporate upwards kinda hydrating your perlite as it evaporated?

The lights do evaporate the moisture to an extent, but it seems they only effect the first inch or so of medium. After that, if you just dig down a little you can tell its still moist.
The perlite wicks pretty well though, say if you just water one side of the container, the other side will become moist pretty quickly.
