HeLMeT's Grow log (Moving to real Journal)
    #225500 - 05/12/09 02:40 AM (15 years, 6 months ago)

hi all, got a little closet framed up recently, quadrupled my avalible space finally utilizng my 400w hps bulb.

started taking pictures way too late this time. tho my next set are clones and they just got done rooting. they're going in as soon as whats there is done.

anyways, onto pictures.

oh, before pictures, since tehy're still uploading to photofucket.
Question, can anyone tell by the pictures(just in estimation) how much longer i'm going to want to flower these bad boys, they're both random bagseed. one's in a wick-bucket the others just in plain dirt with no wick.

here's the old chamber, sideways in the closet.

took it out and framed it in

recycled lids i don't use to hold the metal cuplings for the air intake hoses.

here's the exhaust hose. close to the hood and light.

lol, it almost looks like a ghetto bigscreen tv.... but only because i'm high i'd bet.

well that's it for the build. now onto the budpron!
(any help as to suggestions on when to harvest besides "get a microscope" would be appreciated.)

here's a couple pictures of both of them together

we'll start with the one in a plain dirt bucket

heres my other one, in a wick-bucket also, bagseed.

well... that's it for this time.

might as well add a few points of info to help since this is supposed to be a log.

both plants were fim'ed

for seedling and veg stage i used shultz plant food concentrate, i also misted with regular water several times a day up untill flowering.

once i started flowering once a week i dilute a 1/3rd as strong mix as normal of Miracle Grow bloom booster(it was laying around) as far as buckets go, next time i'm going to do everything in a wick-bucket, as it seems to be producing far better results, at least as far as eye candy. never know tho, my plain dirt bucket could end up looking nice and just taking 3x as long to flower.

other than that, during seedling stage they were in peatpots/pellets, when they started to veg, i transplanted them into 3qt buckets with 1 red cup worth of pearlite in the bottom, and then put the rest of it with soiless whitney farms potting mix. the one in teh wick bucket i never took out of the 3qt bucket, i just put dirt around it like a lazy ass... and suprisingly getting decent results.

managed to get a clone off the dirt bucket one before flowering. and i got a clone off a diff female indica i had to kill cuz it wasn't proforming like it should. they're going to be my next set. pictures of them to come soon.

Killed 3 females in my 24hour light chamber and made a couple clones, now to play the waiting game on which ones aren't going to root.

got some new pictures taken today, forgot to get one of the 2 new clones tho.

here's the clone, i think its mostly indica. i had to kill its mother due to space, took this clone after a week of flowering, it survived nicely besides already have crystals on it. should make this clone rather potent i hope

this one, this one only has 4 branches. and its fim'ed. its more of an experiment, don't think its going to produce anything.

here's todays pictures of what i'll nickname Mungaal.

and here's the other one, we'll call it buckethead

think it'll be time to harvest mungaal soon.

i'm worried about buckethead(non-wicked one). i've never seen anything like him. i'm not sure if she's just gonna take 3 extra weeks on flowering, or if the buds are just never going to really dence up like mungaal's have.

any idea if a wick system will alter results that drastically? comepared to the same bucket, without wicks or holes.

and on that note does anyone have an opinion on if mungaal looks ready, just from a pistol standpoint, since i dont' have the $10 to get one of those 30x microscopes to check trichomes

Put your eye right up to the trichs on the leaves close to the bud.  are they clear, white, or amber?  If they're clear let em develop more.  Looks like a great job man.  Any way you could get some pics under a normal cfl light instead of the HPS or maybe mess with the white balance on the camera.  Thanks for sharing this with us!!!

thanks for the advice furr, i've been afraid to shut off the light out of scheduel to take pictures with the flash or with cfl's on. i don't want to stress or stun them. but i will try that white balance trick if my camera has it

oh yeah, its kinda hard for me to see extremely close up. as a kid i was farsighted and glasses kinda fixed it to where i don't need glasses. but i still can't see things really really close up without a magnifying glass, and then, i can't seem to find a powerful enouhg one around the house. heh. (edited cuz i forgot to mention this paragraph)

harvest pictures first!(crappy i know) it overlaps itself too, not as much as appears.

here's the new ones for this round.
one of them is a clone of Mungaal. the other i'll nickname Cobain.

buckethead is still going. bought a 60-100x pocket lite up microscope today. looked at mungaal and realized i harvested her early, by about a week. at most tho. buckethead is starting to get a few cloudy but its mostly clear still. waiting till i see a couple amber ones before i pull it.

got antsy and tried some of the not completely dry mungaal. it makes me never want to get ahold of commercial grade stuff again. its awesome.

*edit*
i should rephrase that... but i can't. well, besides change commercial grade, to badly grown. lol.

Finally got my new Camera today an 8mp olympus with supermacro mode heh.. now if only the instructions were in english...... its in ape. buncha freakin pictures.

bucketheads doing okay. lots of yellowing of the leaves cuz i don't want to put more nutes in there because i have no way to flush it properly before harvest.

both my clones look ok. cobain is stretching out while mungaal's clone is just sitting there kinda short and stalky not growing much.

from the looks of it my experiment plant, is going to be lots of fun to watch. but yield is expected at under 7g dried.

so yeah, pictures, soon as i figure this damn camera out.

olympus fe-310 5x optical zoom 8mp camera woot!

okay figured it out a little bit. enough to at least get log worthy pictures up.

here's today's picture of cloned Cobain

here is today's picture of Cloned Mungaal

here's my Experiment.

and here's todays budpron of Buckethead

and this is off topic for a log. but here's my bestest little buddy/guard dog.

he's always lazy for the camera. weird since he's a streak of white most the time.

anyways. that's it till i get some really good macro shots of buckethead or a few days goes by lol.
