Low-Stress Training During Flowering?
#400966 - 04/13/10 08:34 PM (14 years, 8 months ago) |

So, I'm in Flowering mode right now, on Day 24 (As of Today), and I notice my plant is branch OUT a lot, especially in the bottom canopy....
...and I don't want it to do that. I wanna keep it close together, so I can hit it better with my improv'd side-lighting, to increase the efficiency of my lighting.
So, is it OK to use like furry pipe cleaners to do LST (Low-Stress Training, not LSD! ) to train the branches toward the center of my girly girl?
Any experience in this late last-minute-laziness training for a plant during/only flowering?
Thanks for your help, ~ TrueHerbCrystal ~

Seems like bunching it up is gonna give you less light in the end. If the branches are more spread out you'll have better penetration. To answer the question, yes, you can, won't hurt the plant or anything.

Yeah, I guess you're right about the low-penetration thing....CFL's (which I'm only using for flowering) already have poor penetration (sadly, just like my wang)....so bunching them together wouldn't be good.
But its good to know I have the option, and it won't hurt anything. I guess that's why its called Low-Stress Training....
Thanks for the answer DieselB ~ TrueHerbCrystal ~

you can but train it in small increments over a long period of time to achieve the result you want

Thanks Mhbound....so, how long does training take, like weeks or months?
Since I have only about 25 days left for flowering (according to the bredders specs), would it even be worth training it?
Thanks Again MH, ~ TrueHerbCrystal ~

Training isn't an additional time on top of your growing time, you train as it grows, thats all.
I've seen amazing results out of some of my plants after only training for a week or two.

Oh, I know.
I'm aware that it doesn't add on time, I was just saying that since I only have about 25 days left of flowering, would it even make a difference to start training now....like, once I'm done training, it might be harvest time already...
But I guess its a journey not the destination....so as I train, I benefit from the guidance I give my girl...
So, what do you think Diesel? Is it worth it to train this late, with a CFL Only flowering light set-up? Will the bud-crowding cause penetration problems?
Better without it? ~ TrueHerbCrystal ~

I stress my plants late in the flowering cycle to really fill those resin glands out
i wouldnt do it because it can cause a plant to go herm. on you
take this as a lesson learned and take note so youll know next time
and then obviously another reason to do training is space...but your plant is just going to fill out its not going to reach much higher
