I'm kinda stressin bout my current hydroponics...
I'm starting some Purple White widow in Hempy cups with some spongerock/verm/sand and I need something to up ph temporarily that will do the least harm to the plant. At least until my ph up/down comes in the mail...
Will crushed garden lime b fine? I don't like the idea of using salt or baking soda to raise ph...

Why do you need to adjust the pH with your hempys? shitty watter I'm assuming?
I've used baking soda for pH up in my hempy's for over a year now, never had any issues.
For the record, Salt is the worst thing ever and won't up your pH, just kill your plant

I believe that my hempy cups are not doing well because of inconsistent watering. (I also have eggplant starting in hempy cups)
I have been misting lightly with hydroponic solution, but now that the plants are growing faster, I planned to start dunking the cups into a 5g resevoir when needed. My water is pretty basic, but I can't add enough of it to the res to balance ph AND ppm...and I'd rather not go to a local hydro shop and get ripped off..Ebay shopping today!
Thanks again, I think I will do with baking soda.

I've never seen a hydro store have outrageous prices on up/down.. I just recently bought a liter from my local store for $10.95.. I bet you paid more than that with shipping.
And if your water is basic why do you wanna up the Ph? Are you checking your Ph, and what are you using to do so?
Are you using nutrients?
