beginner seedling watering question.
    #393550 - 03/31/10 11:03 PM (14 years, 7 months ago)

Ok so im pretty new to the growing game so excuse me if this is a dumb question lol, I recently (today) planted my 2 seedlings into some fox farms ocean forest soil and was wondering, should I give it a watering or should I wait for the soil to dry up a bit? I have heard you don't want to over water your plants and the soil does look moist right out of the bag so im not sure if I should wait for the soil to dry up a bit(they are under a 1000 watt HPS light)or if I should give them a watering before that. thanks for any help it is appreciated.

Give it a watering. The seed husk will require to stay moist to soften up the seeds husk so the taproot can push it's way out of the husk.
Keep the soil moist but not soggy at all times for seedlings.
Seedling phase lasts 2-3weeks..
Keep that 1000 watter up high above your seedlings as you can.
Also expect your soil to dry rapidly under your lights so keep a mindful eye on the moisture content of your seedlings soil.
