8 Days and no sign of life

Hi guys,
It's been 8 days and no sign of my seeds germinating. I put them straight into soil and put them above my boiler to keep them warm and its around 75f in there. Should I uncover the soil to have a look? It's been completely dark in there and they're new seeds. Anything I could do to accelerate this or do you think there's no need to worry and shit'll start happening soon?
Cheers, Arachnospore

Is the room that temp, or the soil? the radiator is probably hotter than the room is, so be careful not to cook them. The current strain I am using took almost 2 weeks before it popped out of the soil, but it's the most aggressive strain i've worked with.

And if you have them in solo cups I would highly suggest putting a ziplock bag / sandwich bag over the cups to keep the humidity up. Always helped me when I would germ straight to soil

Yeah I'm keeping them wet, I don't imagine the soil temp is that much different and they're in solo cups with cling film over the top to help with humidity. I'll check them tonight cause I just got in. The seeds are white widow and Utopia Haze. Anyone else worked with them and experienced troubles? Though I heard White Widow is a pretty easy going strain.

Yeah dude dont give up hope! I know how it feels man, my first two sprouts happened today after waiting since the 11th when I planted them.
And I have been in and out of my grow room like every thirty minutes checking shit.
