Yep...
Or better yet, buy a security light, and remote ballast it. You could get a 250 or 400 for under 100... just a heads up. www.e-conolite.com

Actually I disagree in this case. If $100 is the only limiting factor you'll be able to purchase far more light with CFL's than I think you can get with HID lights. I assembled a 250W CFL array for only about $40 including bulbs, you could get 600W of CFL going for $100 which I guarantee will completely outperform that 150W HPS

I am a personal fan of the HID. However. In this case, Harry is right. If you are a grower and have limited space and budget. I would go with Harry's 600 watts of CFL's for a hundred dollars. CFL's are perfect for growers with limited space and budget. CFL's run cooler than HID's thus requiring minimal ventilation. CFL's provide enough light to grow Marijuana from seed to harvest. I personally would only bother with CFL's for no further than vegging. Buds that flower under CFL's lack density and weight. Light intensity from CFL's fades fast. CFL's do not have the light intensity to support bottom growth and you end up with a lot of popcorn buds as a result. My suggestion to you would be to get the CFL's. Veg under all those CFL's. Then. If you can afford to. Get a 400 watt HPS for flowering. If you can not afford a 400 watt HPS for your initial grow. You should be able to after you yield your first crop.
