Hard to believe we eat anything other than potatoes and sour kraut isn't it?

Also, I've said this to you before but although I live in Germany I am not German.

Most Germans hate spicy food.

I bet you've never heard of it. I'll give you a hint though: it borders Russia.

You met a Kazak jew? Yikes, was he fleeing from Kazakhstan for persecution? They're not real big fans of jews over there I've heard. :borat:

No I'm not kazak - strange people those ones are though. They're like a mixture between Arabs and Asians but speak Russian. :lmafo:

First letter of the countries name starts with an E. It's in the Baltics.

I must admit I don't really think things through very thoroughly before I do them. That's probably the reason why I'm a drug addict.

Here is my standard guacamole recipe, is it similar to yours spenc?

avocado
freshly squeezed lime juice (essential to authenticity)
salt / pepper to taste
ground cumin to taste

sometimes I add finely diced onions, but not often.

I'm pretty sure it's the only country that starts with "E" that borders Russia. At least on the west side. I had to do a lot of European geography maps by hand and shit. Got HELLA down to detail.

Actually mine is a little different. Though this was intended to be a meal not so much a dip sauce.

I used:
peas
avocado
green onions
tomatoes
cilantro
jalepenos
lemon juice
salt & pepper

Using peas more than avocado also lowers the calories.

that is an interesting take! jalapenos are great in there, I'm a purist so I don't think I could ever put peas in mine :[

Is your recipe common in Germany?

estonia i'm sure.

my family comes from lithuania on my dads side.

The kazak jew had already fled to Germany to escape persecution, quite ironic when ya think about it.  He was somewhat of a strange seeming man, but very nice.

I'm not sure, it's very tasty so I'm sure plenty of folks eat it over there. We live in a world where distance means nothing, and cultures intersect at the most seemingly random times.

It's actually rather good. The idea behind the peas is to make it lower in calories but still give you lots to eat.

haha, no I don't think this recipe is very common in Germany or Estonia for that matter. I got it out of an American cook book called "The Treasury of Cooking Healthy."

Yeah, I try to add a  bunch of tomato in mine for the same reason. I might try peas as I don't believe I've tried peas in guacamole before.

It's quite good, although it's different - the peas are meant to replace a lot of the avocado. So if you want a super low calorie gauc, completely omit the avocado and just use peas. Or if you want something more flavorful, just add more avocado. The peas are just the foundation of the guac in this case.

I mean sure, if you want to put it that way. I suppose it would be wrong to call it guacamole if there is no avocado. Though I don't know what else I would call it. It's made exactly like guacamole, just with lots of peas instead of avocado. Though, I like to believe guacamole is a mixture of vegetables rather than just the avocado itself. I was simply saying in theory you could make a very low calorie "MIXTURE THAT IS NOT GUACAMOLE" by omitting the avocado.

I'll explain it again... the idea of putting peas in there is so that you can consume larger portions without consuming a ridiculous amount of calories. Did you not see how much guacamole I made? That was 5 meals worth. It's actually rather good, it's really good for you and I would suggest you try it before judging it.

lol I'm not judging it as bad, I'm just saying it ain't guacamole without avocados. by definition

I'm sure it's delicious, I just consider it a different food if there's no avocado
